Amy Winehouse Facts You May Not Know
Amy Winehouse has a statue that stands in Camden Town, North London at Stables Market. The statue was created by Scott Eaton and was officially shown on September 14th of 2014 which Winehouse would of been 31 years old on this date.
Amy Winehouse has stated that her intention was never to get as famous as she became in fact she tried to avoid it. Before the spotlight even hit her she had said she doesn't think she'll ever be famous and that she would go mad if she did. Too much time in the spotlight began stress on her to the point of getting into drugs and the path to her alcohol abuse.
The Song Rehab
All of Winehouse's hit songs were all connected to her personal life. For example songs such as "Rehab" in which in real life many people she was close to suggested Winehouse should indeed check into Rehab but her dad did in fact say she was fine and did not require rehab.
Back to Black
The hit song "Back to Black" was actually written about Blake Fielder-Civil when he left the singer for his ex girlfriend. The two eventually got back together and even tied the knot in 2007. In the documentary Amy they state that Winehouse no longer wanted to sing the song because it was no longer relevant to her life but she was required to continue singing at her concerts and had no choice in the matter.
Winehouse recorded her last song with legend Tony Bennett who she had been a huge fan of. The song was named "Body and Soul". Their cover of the song won them a Grammy for best pop duo and group performance although it was won after she had already passed.
Winehouse was told that if she kept drinking the way she was eventually it would lead to death in which it eventually did. The singer died on July 23th in 2011 in Camden, London at the age of 27. The result was that she had died from alcohol poisoning, she had consumed more than five times the legal drinking and driving limit. Her resting place resides in Edgwarebury, Lane Cemetery which is a Jewish Cemetery in London.
