What Did I think?
This isn't my type of movie but sometimes, independent filmmakers make movies that are worthy of their own special box.
An Hour to Kill was made on a micro-budget and while crude, nonsensical and sometimes a little on the feral side, it deserves credit where credit is due. Fans of over-the-top stories and premises that offend will get a big kick out of this feature. Trust me when I say, there is plenty that will offend average folk.
An Hour to kill has a crime-noir style to it. For those that like movies with individual short stories encased in a larger tale you'll really get a kick out of these quite memorable snippets. It's kind of like seeing two guys have a competition to see can out crap-talk the other and they do it in a highly imaginative way.
An Hour to Kill doesn't feature gore or gallons of blood and all of the kills scenes and insinuated macabre events happen off-screen.
While the plot points aren't original, and despite this type of film being not to my tastes, I can definitely say it is really clever. I also read that the entire thing was filmed on a camcorder but couldn't decide if the author of the comment was being funny or not. However, the overall execution of some of the scenes tells me this is probably true.
Don't go into this looking for a polished full feature film but simply to see a movie made with passion and vigor.
