Isabella begins to spend time with Violet and reveals why she became a debutant. It is a side story that takes place during the Violet Evergarden anime series.

The Story Is Enjoyable If You Watched the Anime

Violet Evergarden: -Eternity and the Auto Memory Dol- (2020) is a movie that takes place during and after the Violet Evergarden anime series, it is a side story for the anime. It is meant for fans of the anime and it’s an enjoyable movie that gives fans more time with Violet Evergarden.

It also shows a mature side of Violet that I enjoyed watching because I watched the anime before watching the movie. The movie has more of what fans enjoy about Violet Evergarden and shows us more interesting characters that she meets as part of her job as someone that writes letters for others.

It can be watched as a standalone, but if you don’t know much about the characters you won’t enjoy it as much compared to someone that has watched the anime series before watching the movie.

The Animation Is Gorgeous

Kyoto Animation’s work for this movie is amazing. The art style looks gorgeous and it makes the movie a marvel to look at just from the artwork in the film.

The animation is also very fluid and flows very well for the scenes where the animation needs to be fluid, such as a ballroom dancing scene in the film.

The animation is very well done and is wonderful eye candy for the audience that enjoys fluid and beautiful animation. The art style is also lovely to look at so the movie is visually entertaining even if it’s not an action-oriented film.

Overall, the animation is top-notch and makes it a memorable film to watch whether you’re a big fan of Violet Evergarden or not.

The English Dub Is Excellent!

The English dub for Violet Evergarden is outstanding. The original English dub cast reprised their roles for the movie so it’s nice to hear them voice the characters again.

It is repetitive for me to praise the cast from the Violet Evergarden anime because I reviewed the anime but they all did an amazing job voice acting for this movie, some of the other characters had less screen time because the new characters are the main focus of the movie but the original cast is amazing and kept up their level of performance from the anime.

Erika Harlacher reprises her role as Violet Evergarden and has the most screen time of the original anime cast members. Erika Harlacher gave an excellent vocal performance as Violet Evergarden, showing her character’s maturity and growth since some part of the film takes place after the anime finished and shows her character’s development in her vocal performance and she did an excellent job in this role.

Colleen O’Shougnessey did a wonderful job voicing Isabella York and I enjoyed her voice work in this anime movie. I have heard her in other anime and I’ve always enjoyed her work so hearing her in a franchise that I enjoy watching. She was great in this film and I enjoyed her performance.

Sandy Fox gave an endearing and entertaining vocal performance as Taylor. I enjoyed her voice acting and she made her character very cute but sometimes obnoxious. The voice acting was natural and she did a fantastic job bringing life to her character.

Overall, the voice acting for Violet Evergarden: -Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll- is great and it makes Violet Evergarden one of the best English dubs for Netflix exclusive anime and while the Japanese dub is also amazing, if you like to listen to English dubs, you’ll enjoy the English dub for this movie.

The Music Is Fantastic!

Evan Call’s soundtrack for Violet Evergarden: -Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll- are emotional and heartfelt. I loved the soundtrack from the Violet Evergarden anime and he uses many of the tracks from the anime while adding new songs for the film that are new and just as good as the music in the anime.

I loved the soundtrack for this movie and I enjoyed listening to music that I have heard before and the new songs composed for this anime film.

The Movie Is for Fans of Violet Evergarden

Violet Evergarden: -Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll- is a feature length film for fans of the Violet Evergarden anime. It can be watched as a standalone but you will not feel attached the cast if you haven’t seen Violet Evergarden.

It is a continuation of the anime and while it doesn’t bring closure to the main story of the anime it is a nice movie that fans of the anime and the light novels can enjoy.

It does not reveal much about Violet’s character because it takes place during and after the anime is over. If you want to learn more about Violet Evergarden you will have to watch the anime because the movie does not focus on Violet Evergarden’s character like the anime does.

The movie can be enjoyed as a standalone if you haven’t seen the series but you’ll enjoy the film much more if you’ve watched the anime.

It’s a Nice Film That Fans of the Anime Will Enjoy

Violet Evergarden: -Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll- is a wonderful and heartwarming film that fans of the Violet Evergarden anime will enjoy. It’s a wonderful continuation of the anime that is heartwarming and entertaining if you’re a fan of the anime.

The film is a nice treat for fans of Violet Evergarden. The film is endearing and heartwarming. This is a wonderful addition to the anime that fans will enjoy. If you’re thinking about watching the movie I would recommend watching the anime if you’re interested in the movie since it is meant to be watched after finishing the anime.

My Grade A

Violet Evergarden: -Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll- is a movie that everyone can enjoy, but fans of the anime will enjoy it most of all. I rewatched the anime right before watching the movie and it’s a great continuation of the anime.

The new characters that are in the movie are very well written and interesting. The new plot was intriguing and I enjoyed the film. The new characters were unique and not a rehash of previous characters seen in the anime. The story was very well done and it was a nice breath of fresh air if you just want to watch a feel-good anime.

I loved this movie because I loved the Violet Evergarden anime. It is a wonderful film. The story is intriguing and endearing, the animation is top-notch, along with excellent vocal performances in English and Japanese.

It is an enjoyable film and I am so happy that Kyoto Animation was able to bounce back from the tragic arson attack that they experience last year, they had been recovering from it for quite some time and the movie had to be pushed back during its initial release out of respect for the arson victims. Even though the film came out shortly after the arson attack, it was not put up on Netflix until 2020 and it makes me think of the staff and how they were able to come back from that, even if the only way this film was affected was by being delayed out of respect for the victims.

It is an amazing film that is worth your time and money. If you have a Netflix account it is worth your time to watch the anime movie if you have a subscription because it is worth your time to watch the movie if you watched the anime Violet EVergarden.

It was an excellent film, having both great production values and a great story that will bring back all the enjoyment that you experience with the anime. It’s a film that I loved and I am excited for the next Violet Evergarden anime movie.

Funimation Entertainment licensed it for home video release for December 1st, 2020.
