Another Star in Heaven

Updated on June 20, 2013

Like shooting stars across the Heavens
Their being taken away one by one
Two talented and lovely ladies Whitney and Donna
And now Bee Gee Robin Gibbs
They must be forming a special band up yonder
Somewhere behind the clouds, stars and the moon
Why in such a short time so many
We’ll never know
His talent, legend and voice
Has been preserved for the ages
The Bee Gees also made me get up on that disco floor
Under swirling lights to dance the night away
I only have but some poetic words to express my sorrow
And words are all anyone can have

Another sad day, another talent gone away
Robin you may have started a joke
But today you haven’t left us laughing

May you find peace up yonder
Down here we’ll continue listening to your music
Singing your songs
And remembering you
God bless Robin and keep those stars ever shining bright

Beautiful tribute. My feet never stopped dancing either - what an era and what fabulous talent we had then! I'm blessed that I lived in that time.

Thank you so much for your comment Debbie. My love with the Bee Gees and their music actually began when the movie Saturday Night Fever came out. God bless.

Thank you for commenting wetnosedogs. The Bee Gees got me discoing at the time that Travolta was doing his dancing in Saturday Night Fever.

Up, awesome, and beautiful Gypsy. Beautiful tribute my friend. I was shocked when I heard this. The Bee Gees were before my time, but I always enjoyed their music as a young child. "Staying Alive", one of my favorites. Robin was what 62? 63? Still young in a sense. Just so sad.

Glad you liked this tribute Ricky. Robin was one talented musician and singer as all of the Bee Gees. It is very sad. They were part of my disco era.

I know this did not make it to my box. I wrote one about them too. All gone of the four but Barry. So sad, they said Robin would have lived if he had had a simple injection or treatment of some sort, in time. I so loved this group since Jive Talkin' lol. I think Robin had an obsessive jealousy of Barry at least in the beginning, I hope he got over it, because really they sang so much alike. ^

The Bee Gees have the greatest music and it just inspires and makes you want to dance. This was a tragic loss.
