I asked BRADY HOUSE HISTORIAN on Facebook why he does this very fine historical thing by mapping out the houses of the TV series we all loved, one being The Brady Bunch so read on then go here to this link to see it and feel it and walk-thru the pop culture tv home and remember how it was GROOVEY MAN! Click into that link!

In the words of my Facebook pal: "Why I love recreating these TV homes for people? Well, I think I can get to the point nicely. My hope is to eventually be able to do this for a living, because it's something I really am passionate about." He said honestly.

"Well, I've been doing these computer-generated 3-D walk-throughs of TV homes since about 2006, starting with the Brady Bunch house. I had no idea why I started doing this. I think people just assumed it was borne out of some kind of distorted fascination with The Brady Bunch. Though that particular show has been my main focus until recently, this project really has more to do with a deep connection I have with the past, and I think every one of us in Western society can relate to this notion."

"To give you an example of how nostalgic I am, I'll tell you that for years I would make semi-annual visits to my former preschool classroom in my hometown of Eugene, Oregon. I have the entire layout of the classroom memorized, right down to the cloakroom- and that's been since 1978!"

"How many people even do that sort of thing, let alone even remember their preschool days well into their adulthood? Which I guess brings me to why I love recreating spaces past- particularly that of my childhood TV shows. My whole reason for recreating the Brady Bunch house was to revisit my childhood in a more in-depth way, by actually getting into the space (albeit virtually) our beloved cast members once worked in."

I agreed with him when he said that the TV generation kids have that same connection with the past in terms of the shows that we enjoyed as kids. I think space and time are very interconnected concepts because they are things we can't fully reclaim. But thankfully, there are ways-especially now- to recreate not only the good memories, but also the spaces where these memories occurred. I think the magnitude of negativity in this world today exceeds what our world had in the past, and while I don't think such TV nostalgia is the answer to all our problems, I think it certainly is a nice place we can go to remember our innocence. I plan on recreating many more sets of TV shows, because, like me, people seem to love it!

I have enjoyed his graphic drawings of The Brady Bunch House and think he should really consider constructing some of his plans and graphic stuff. We will see how this all pans out. I will, of course, be blogging him and hooking him up with other Brady Bunch fans to make the dream come alive. It has many possibilities and let's get behind him full on. Good luck to him, I will do my best to spread the blog and his dream!
