New Barbie Movies Comes Out September 2012

She's blonde, she's cute, and she's already been the star of 25 movies. Who is it?

It's none other than Barbie, Mattel's iconic doll who has starred in an entire series of straight-to-DVD movies.

The newest, "Barbie: The Princess and the Popstar" will be released September 11, 2012. Here's a sneak preview.

Barbie Princess Popstar Dolls and DVD

The New Barbie Princess Popstar Movie

Barbie: The Princess and the Popstar is Barbie's second movie based on Mark Twain's classic tale of mistaken identity. The first was Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper, which was released in 2004 and was the first musical Barbie movie.

The latest in the line of movies featuring Mattel's famous doll again stars Barbie as two characters who look alike. The first is Princess Tori of Meribella. The teen princess would much prefer to sing and dance rather than fulfill her duties as a princess. She dreams of having the freedom of a popstar. The second is Keira, a world-famous singer who longs to live the posh life of a pampered princess.

When Keira visits the kingdom to perform, the girls meet and discover many similarities and a secret that allows them to look like one another. Of course, they can't resist the idea of trading places, but they soon find out that the lives they've dreamed of aren't exactly the way they imagined. Then, when Meribella's magical secret is stolen, the girls must work together to save the kingdom.

The new Barbie princess/popstar movie features a variety of songs, including rewritten versions of hit songs such as Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."

With an upbeat soundtrack and fun characters, Barbie: The Princess and the Popstar is sure to be another hit with little girls who love all the Barbie movies.
