Latin Beauties 6
Beautiful Latin Women 6 - Christina Aguilera, Ivy Queen, Dayana Mendoza, Angelica Rivera and more.
It's been awhile since I added to my series about the beautiful Latin women of television, movies and music.
So here is a new entry.
This time we have actresses, models, singers, songwriters, TV hosts and believe it or not, a couple of ballerinas.
A lot of these women you may not have ever heard of if you live outside of Mexico.
But with the US's growing Hispanic population, don't be surprised if you start seeing some of these lovely Latinas pop up on American TV.
As a matter of fact, that has kind of already happened....
Mexican actress, singer and song writer Lorena Rojas was born on February 10th, 1971 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico.
She made her acting debut in the 1990 telenovela Alcanzar una estrella.
It was so successful that it spawned a sequel, Alcanzar una estrella II (of course) and Lorena has gone on to appear in over twenty TV shows and telenovelas.
Besides acting, she has released two albums, "Como Yo No Hay Ninguna" (2001) and "Deseo" (2006).
After being diagnosed and beating advanced breast cancer two years ago, Lance Armstrong named Lorena the Hispanic spokeswoman for his foundation.
Sadly, on February 16th, 2015, Lorena passed away at the age of 44.

Christina Aguilera, American pop singer and songwriter, is of Ecuadorian and Irish descent.
Christina was born on December 18th, 1980 in Staten Island, New York.
She started out on Star Search, went on to Disney's The New Mickey Mouse Club and then went on to become one of the most successful recording artists of the decade, selling over 43 million records worldwide.
Ivy Queen is a Puerto Rican-American Latin Grammy nominated reggaeton composer and singer.
She was born on March 4th, 1972 in Añasco, Puerto Rico.
Ivy's fans call her "La Reina del Reggaeton" (The Queen of Reggaeton), and she is one of the few female artists on the reggaeton scene.
In case you don't know what Reggaeton is, here's the best I can describe it...it's a blend of the West-Indian music influences of reggae and dance hall, with bomba, plena, salsa, merengue, latin pop, cumbia, bachata and hip hop, contemporary R&B, and electronica.
Ivy has released seven studio albums, one compilation album and has a string of singles since 1999.
Ivy won the Premio Lo Nuestro Album of the Year/Urban, and won Hot Latin Song Of The Year, Female and the Tropical Airplay Song Of The Year, Female Awards at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Miss Venezuela 2007 and Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza was born on June 1st, 1986 in Caracas, Venezuela.
Before she was a beauty queen, she was a very successful model working in New York, Italy, Germany, France, Athens and Spain.
Dayana was once kidnapped in Venezuela and then in March 2009, she made some comments about the Guantanamo Bay detention camp that didn't go over well with...well...just about everyone.
But allegedly, the comments she made were taken out of context.
Mexican telenovela actress Angélica Rivera was born on August 2nd, 1970 in Mexico City, Mexico.
Before getting into telenovelas, she was a model, doing several commercials and appearing in at least one music video.
She has appeared in fifteen telenovelas such as Dulce Desafío, Simplemente María, Mi pequeña Soledad, La Pícara soñadora and Alcanzar una estrella II.
Penelope Menchaca is a Mexican television host and actress, born on September 6th 1968 in Ciudad de México, Mexico.
Penelope started out as a ballerina, then went on to join the singing group "Las Nenas" at the age of 19 where she was the lead singer for over ten years.
She and her two daughters moved to Los Angeles in 1999, and she became the host of Los Angeles en Vivo.
In 2004 she moved on to the TV show 12 Corazones (12 Hearts) a dating game on Telemundo .
In August 2009, 12 Corazones: Rumbo al Altar, a spin off of 12 Corazone started, with Penelope as the host.
She has appeared on eighteen different TV shows and series since 1998.
In August of 2011 Penelope was picked to be the host of "Minute To Win It" on Televisa.
Cuban born actress, model, and ballet dancer Aylín Mújica was born on November 24th, 1974 in Havana, Ciudad de La Habana, Cuba.
Aylin started modeling at the age of thirteen, and wound up as an actress, appearing in almost twenty television shows.
Her latest work was in the telenovela Niños Ricos, Pobres Padres.
Mexican actress and model Camila Sodi was born on May 14, 1986 in Mexico City, Mexico.
Camila is the niece of the niece of Mexican singer and former actress Thalía.
On television she appeared on Inocente de Ti as Florecita (2004) as as Florecita and she has appeared in four movies, El búfalo de la noche (2007), Niñas Mal (2007), Déficit (2007) and
Arráncame la vida (2008).
Mexican television entertainment news anchor Luisa Fernanda was born in either 1969 or 1970, depending on where you look.
She stated out as a member of the singing group "Garibaldi" and a TV host in Mexico.
Luisa then became a model, and then went on to appear in several telenovelas for Televisa.
In 2000, she worked for the Home Shopping Network's Spanish channel.
She then left HSN to work for Telemundo/NBC.
After being fired from Telemundo/NBC in 2007, (for supposedly using an anti-gay epithet, a charge that both GLADD and its Latin American counterpart LGBT refuted) she went to radio.
