Benjamin Button and Life

Updated on December 27, 2008

Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett in Benjamin Button

Who doesn't change after awhile?

Today I drove into the city and saw the movie Benjamin Button with a good friend.  Without giving the movie away for those who have not seen it, I will say that I got lost in the story while I watched the movie.  That's a good sign for me.  I couldn't help but see the similiarites in all of our lives and what happens in the movie.  The older I get the more I see that relationships is what life is about, the relationship we have with ourselves, our parents and extended family, our friends, neighbors, everyone we meet and all living beings.

When I was younger it seemed it was what I accomplished or did that gave life meaning.  That message comes through from somewhere (why else would we spend so much time working?)  But as I get older I see that's not the case, as least not from my life experiences.

Benjamin Button is the best movie I've seen this year so far and 2008 is almost over.  It was moving and thought provoking.  I think this is the first movie with Brad Pitt in it I saw.  One thing's certain - he's easy on the eyes.

Tomorrow I might see Seven Pounds.  Doubt also sounds good.

Anyone else seen Benjamin Button?  If so, what's your take on the movie?  How did you like it?
