Ten Great Action Movies

1. Face Off (1997): Nicolas Cage and John Travolta star in this action packed film. Travolta is the FBI agent and Cage is the criminal. Through a strange set of circumstances, they changed faces, bodies and lives. This movie shows that you do not need to take your family for granted. Having to watch your enemy take your place with your wife and daughter is just creepy. Having to become your enemy is truly something to think about. This film was known for having a great plot and great action sequences throughout the movie.

2. Die Hard With A Vengeance (1995): This is the third Die Hard film and once again it features Bruce Willis, as The New York City Policeman, John McClane. The film also stars, Samuel L. Jackson. McClane is forced to play Simon Says with a terrorist named Simon. This film features great special effects especially when it comes to explosions. There is a lot of shooting in these movies. My brother loves these movies. There is a lot of gun violence in this movie and, it is not for the faint of heart.

3. Con-Air (1997): John Malkovich and Nicolas Cage star in this action packed movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This movie is about a paroled prisoner who was released on good behavior and was being transported back to Alabama, when the transport vehicle was hijacked. Even though this is film is non stop action, there is a love story in this movie as well. If you love a movie involving an airplane, this is a great one. The main bad guy of the film has a unique nick-name, Cyrus the virus.

4. The Fugitive (1993): Harrison Ford is the Fugitive. He was accused of murdering his wife but, did he do it or not? That is the question. He was put in prison and was being transported on a bus that crashed and killed all the guards and most of the prisoners. Tommy Lee Jones is the U.S. Marshal who is assigned to the case to capture The Fugitive. This is a great movie to see even now, it is action packed.

5. Hard To Kill (1990): Steven Seagal plays a cop whose wife and child were murdered and he fell into a coma. Ten years later and he awakens seeking revenge and proving, he is hard to kill. The fighting scenes are amazing and they feature Seagal using Martial Arts techniques and these are techniques that he learned and knows in real life. He uses these moves that he knows, when he is handling criminals in real life. This character didn't want to die. After awakening from his coma, he trained and got his health back together and went after the criminals.

6. Marked For Death (1990): Steven Seagal plays as a DEA Agent named John Hatcher. This film is said to have been one of Seagal's best. When Hatcher's partner is killed, by a Jamaican drug cartel, Hatcher decides to take it to the streets. The head of the gang marks Hatcher for death but, it's the other way around. He will not stop until he wins the day. In the end, it is Seagal vs. Screwface. The sword fighting sequence in this action movie is a must see.

7. Set It Off (1996): Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah and Dr. Dre star in this criminal, action film. The soundtrack is outstanding and is produced by Dr. Dre. The girls are in desperate need of money. They start robbing banks for quick cash, with success. Although the movie has lots of action, it is very dramatic. The ending to this film is unforgettable to anyone who sees it. I remember this movie to be pretty rough. The girls would meet on the roof and discuss what is going on and talk about their next bank robbery or, talk about their strategies.

8. U.S. Marshals (1998): Just like in the fugitive, Tommy Lee Jones plays as the head of the U.S. Marshals and he is out to catch an accused killer played by Wesley Snipes. The film takes place everywhere from the woods to a car, a train and then to a plane. The action is intense and the plot does not truly unfold until the end of the movie. Wesley Snipes is a great actor and he and Tommy Lee Jones, make a great pair of actors in this movie.

9. Enemy of the State (1998): This film has a great cast: Will Smith, Jon Voight and Gene Hackman. This film is about political corruption and government cover ups. The film has excellent car chase scenes and the plot has more twists than episodes of The Twilight Zone. This is a great cast for this movie.

10. Armageddon (1998): This is a great star studded cast with some of the names being: Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton and Liv Tyler. Aerosmith's song "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing," was the main soundtrack to the movie. I think the movie made this song famous and the song was forever related to this movie. An asteroid is coming close to the earth to destroy it and it is up to a brave group of astronauts to save the world.

How'bout "The Rock" with Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery? I prefer that one to Nic's turn in "Con Air."

This is a great list Leslie, but for me Face off wouldn't be on top. Enemy of the State, The Fugitive, & Marked for Death would be my top 3. I've seen them all & all are good movies. Thumbs up on your hub.
