Best Animation Movies 2012

Here is a list with the best animation movies 2012. Also there will be some words about good animated TV series like The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Gravity Falls. You can share your own tops and lists at the end in the comments section and you can vote at the poll your favorite animated movie.

Remember to check our best animation movies 2013 list.

Because I love Ice Age movies, I like to start my list with the fourth movie that will be released on 13 July 2012 in USA, who is called Ice Age: Continental Drift. Mike Thurmeier and Steve Martino (Co-Directors) make a great job with this animation produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

About the cast of Ice Age: Continental Drift we can say that Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Chris Wedge and Josh Peck will give life to Manny, Ellie, Diego, Sid, Scrat and Eddie. Down here you can watch the trailer. Remember to vote this movie as the best animation movie 2012 if you like it!

Brave

Brave is another good animation movie for year 2012. Being a great movie for all family members Brave will be a success distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and produced by Pixar Animation Studios.

Release date is set for summer 2012 on 22 June. About the filmmakers we can say that Mark Andrews will be director along Brenda Chapman who also will be the writer for the screenplay (along Irene Mecchi) while Katherine Sarafian will be the producer.

About Brave cast we can say that is very good and we can heard voices of Emma Thompson (Queen Elinor (voice)), Kelly Macdonald (Princess Merida), Robbie Coltrane (Lord Dingwall) and Kevin McKidd (Lord MacGuffin / Young MacGuffin). Down here you can watch the trailer.

Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted

First titled simply Madagascar 3 and then Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, here we have in 2012 the third movie from a trilogy (maybe not). If this movie will be the last or not from the Madagascar movies is a big question with a simple answer. Probably this movie will not be the last if will have success. First time I heard about this movie from a friend who recommended it to me like a very very funny animation movie (also he says that is a must see). Now I recommend you :) the third movie as one of the best animation movies of 2012.

Produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount Pictures, Madagascar 3 has release date set for 8 June 2012. In this movie we will see again Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo this time at the circus.

Probably you know Eric Darnell because he is the writer and director of Madagascar, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and also is involved in The Penguins of Madagascar. Now Eric Darnell is again director for the third movie, while the screenplay is created by Noah Baumbach (Greenberg).

About the cast we will hear again voices like King Julien XIII (Sacha Baron Cohen), Alex (Ben Stiller), Melman (David Schwimmer), Marty (Chris Rock), Gloria (Jada Pinkett Smith), Florrie (Sherri Shepherd) and Maurice (Cedric the Entertainer).

Dr. Seuss' The Lorax

If you liked Horton Hears a Who! (I like it much), you must wait for the forward animation in spring 2012. The source is also a story by popular Dr. Seuss. Published in 1971, The Lorax is an ecological-themed story: a greedy businessman grub a whole forest to manufacture clothes, despite warnings from Lorax, a convinced environmentalist. The result is catastrophic and all the animals leave the area. What to do? Something tells us that Lorax will become one of the most beloved character in 2012's!

Officially titled Dr. Seuss' The Lorax and being distributed by IMAX this movie has release date set for 2 March 2012.

I will love to hear the voice of Danny DeVito as The Lorax, while the cast will be completed by Zac Efron as Ted, Taylor Swift as Audrey, Betty White as Norma, Ed Helms as Once-ler and Rob Riggle as O'Hare. You can enjoy the trailer down here.

Rise of the Guardians

Rise of the Guardians will be for sure one of the best animation movies of 2012. Having release date set for 21 November 2012, this animation will bring together Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Jack Frost and the Sandman. Kids will love to see this team together (as The Expendables :)) who form a united front against the Bogeyman.

Coming from DreamWorks Animation and being distributed by DreamWorks SKG this animation will be released on 21 November 2012. Peter Ramsey is director while William Joyce will be Co-Director / Writer (book "The Guardians of Childhood"). Filmmakers team will be completed by David Lindsay-Abaire as writer (screenplay), Nancy Bernstein and Christina Steinberg as producers and John Powell as composer.

Rise of the Guardians cast is very interesting and it looks like this: Jude Law as voice of Pitch, Hugh Jackman as Bunnymund/The Easter Bunny, Isla Fisher as Tooth/The Tooth Fairy, Chris Pine as Jack Frost, Alec Baldwin as North/Santa Clause and Dakota Goyo as Jamie.

Best Animation Movies 2012 List

We can say that the list may continue with other good animations for 2012 like Hotel Transylvania, Frankenweenie, Dorothy of Oz, The Pirates! Band of Misfits and other great movies that will be available down here at the poll.

As I promise I want to make here a list with the best animated TV series of 2012 that must include: The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Annoying Orange, Gravity Falls and Future Earth.

You can add you own lists with animation movies down here in the comments section, but if you want to see complete list check animation movies 2012 list.
