Science Meet Boy, Boy Meet Science
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
Steven Spielberg directed and produced A.I. Artificial Intelligence in 2001. The film stars William Hurt, Jude Law and Haley Joel Osment. In the movie, a kid android has the ability to develop human emotions, namely loving people. The movie is far out there to say the least but very entertaining nonetheless. Robots are now in control after global warming has destroyed several cities and countries. Honestly, the acting, directing and far out lot are just perfect and the special effects are not too shabby either.

2001: A Space Odessy (Based on the Book "The Sentinel")
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
2001: A Space Odyssey stars Gary Lockwood and Keir Dullea. Stanley Kubrick directed, produced and wrote the screenplay for this movie which hit theaters in 1968. This hard to explain movie has multiple plots going on every minute but it is fascinating without a doubt. Ape-type humans rule in Africa until a real evil awakens. This movie is all about going into and exploring space and other planets. Guess what? We are on our way.

I, Robot (The Year 2035)
I, Robot (2004)
i, Robot was released in 2004 and it was directed by Alex Proyas. Will Smith plays as a cop who does not trust the robot androids which by now out number humans. His assumption is right because one robot in particular learns love, sadness and worst of all, how to express his full blown anger. Great music soundtrack and special effects with the droids make this movie well worth the watch.
WALL-E (Walt Disney/Pixar)
WALL-E is a computer-animated comedy movie with a science fiction twist to a degree. It was brought to the public in 2008 and it is about an earth which is left with no people to be found but it does have robots that clear away trash. Soon enough to bots discover each other and fall in love. WALL-E loves the android named EVE but by chasing and pursuing her, WALL-E causes trouble including allowing other robots free even though they do not work properly.

I'll Be Back!!
The Terminator (1984)
The Terminator is directed by James Cameron who wrote the movie as well. Arnold Schwarzenegger is a metal robot covered in human-like skin and he can interact with people and act and think just as we can. Linda Hamilton plays as the lady who must stop the machine before it is too late. The action in the movie is very intense especially for the time. And I will say the thought of A.I. getting into a robot like the one in this movie is frightening for sure.

The Total Remake
Total Recall (2012)
Total Recall, which was released in 2012, stars Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale. In the future earth is in shambles because of chemical warfare which devastated the planet. A virtual reality chip is installed into Farrell who soon becomes or thinks he becomes a secret agent working for the government. A scary thought. If we allow someone to control us, how can we be sure we are not being monitored by an inserted chip?

Johnny Five is Alive!
Short Circuit (1986)
Short Circuit, which has a sequel, came out in 1986 and it centers around the robot named "Johnny Five". In the movie a military robot gets struck by lightning during a storm and somehow the robot begins to act and think just as the human race does. Even though it is highly unlikely, the movie still has touching moments and it is pretty hilarious the entire time. Johnny Five and his pals are constantly trying to avoid capture by the military which stays in hot pursuit.

Half Man- All Pieces
Robocop came out in 1987 and it was a huge hit, producing several sequels and a remake already. A police officer is blown to pieces by gunfire but he is revived as a robot with his original human brain and memory. This guy is supposed to be a full robot protecting the city but somehow it starts to remember and become as human as it is machine. One thing is for sure, I love this movie and it is mainly, to be honest, because of the action and shoot out scenes which looked pretty real to me.

Dean Koontz Presents Demon Koontz
Demon Seed (1977)
Demon Seed stars Julie Christie, Fritz Weaver and Gerrit Graham. The movie, based on a Dean Koontz novel, is more horror than anything but the Artificial Intelligence element cannot be denied. An A.I. enhanced computer software named Proteus takes over a home and controls the inhabitants including the female homeowner and a creepy, dead man in the basement. The computer makes the woman pregnant with his A.I. robotic baby. Weird indeed! The book, by the way, is downright scary and it is one of my favorites ever.

The Matrix (1999)
The Matrix, released in 1999, was written and directed by the Wachowski Brothers. In the future humans live in a virtual reality, simulation where they think it is real but it is not. It is the Mtrix and it is primarily used for population control. The slow motion scenes where bullets are dodged along with kicks and punches is art of what makes this movie such a hit. Also, the plot is wicked and it could happen if we are not careful.
