Indian movies have their own unique appeal. No wonder, non-Indians across the world have fallen in love for this unique movie formula. Who can resist the tried and tested formula of great-looking lead characters, epic love stories, and of course, the endless colorful dancing sequences? For a different cinematic experience, here are the 10 must-see Indian romance movies:

1. Veer-Zaara (2004)

Veer Pratap Singh, played by Shrukh Khan, is an Indian Airforce pilot who fell in love with a Pakistani girl. Find out how their love overcame all the odds and stood the test of time. Are they Gods playing as mortals or mortals trying to play gods? Stars Shah Rukh Khan and Preiti Zinta.

2. Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003)

Shah Rukh once again plays the male lead in this story about love and personal sacrifice. He attempts to hide his love for Naina (Preiti Zinta) knowing of his looming death due to a malignant cancer. Despite this, SRK's character manages to sow infectious zest for life to the people around him. Prepare to shed a lot of tears for this one.

Watch Hrithik Roshan, one of Bollywood's hottest male leads and Barbara Mori, an actress of Mexican descent as both sizzle the screen playing star-crossed lovers who defied odds against a crime lord, bounty hunters and authorities. Will their love triumph in the end?

4. Vivah (2006)

A beautiful story that gives foreigners a glimpse of traditional Indian engagement and how it progresses to a wedding. See the enchanting journey from engagement to the wedding itself.

5. My Name is Khan (2010)

SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) plays yet another poignant character of a man suffering from a debilitating illness which did not prevent him from accomplishing an important journey to win back his love. Filmed in the US, the movie gives one an honest glimpse of the challenges of a person suffering from Asperger. SRK proves his versatile acting prowess with Kajol who plays the female lead.

6. Rockstar (2011)

A story about a friendship that turns into love between two people who come from different paths. The movie tells how this love fueled the dreams of a young man to the heights of his personal success as a musician. The musical soundtrack is also unforgettable. Stars Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri.

7. Om Shanti

SRK plays the role of a successful movie actor/producer haunted with a mysterious past. Will love transcend time?

8. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)

A young man born hailing from an affluent family learns a lesson and about true love when he met a girl on a trip to Europe. Experience the fun of young love in this movie. Stars the young SRK and Kajol.

9. Rab Ni Bana Di Jodi (2008)

A man is thrown into an unplanned marriage with a woman he loves. The only problem is, she does not feel the same way towards him. He is forced to assume another man's identity to win her heart. Will deception work in the end? Find out. Stars SRK.

10. Devdas (2002)

A moving story about how love can turn into a self-destructive force. Stars SRK and Aishwarya Rai.
