Best TV Shows Ever

Updated on March 4, 2014

Greatest TV shows ever

There have been many great TV shows and series, from action to comedy, and maybe you've heard some of these shows, but are hesitant to watch them because you don't know if they will be good. Below are my 10 personal favorite TV shows/series ever that you're sure to love.

Walter White

1. Breaking Bad

The greatest, most suspenseful movie that I have ever watched before. 5 seasons of the greatest action filled story that will have you at the edge of your seat every show. Breaking Bad is about a chemistry teacher, Walter White, who must make quick money once he discovers he has lung cancer and maybe only a year to live. A once straight-arrowhead man decides to go into the meth making business as he knows how to make the product and it's quick money. Teaming up with his former student, Jesse, they try and make it to the top of the drug game, as the once good Walter turns into a money crazed villain. Watch Walt run from enemy drug lords, mobs, and even his DEA agent brother-in-law, in the best TV series ever. Breaking Bad got a 9.6 rating out of 10 on IMDb and is available on Netflix.

Walking Dead

2. The Walking Dead

The zombie apocalypse has arrived, and the world as we know it is gone. Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, must protect his group of misfits in a world overrun by zombies. Not only do they have to fight off the walking dead who are referred to as walkers, but also have to fend off other living people who will do whatever it takes in order to survive. This action filled TV show has taken TV by storm, and is now the top TV show. Currently in season 4, watch the living struggle to make it in a world with no government, no police, and no law, as walkers are trying to eat them alive and turn them into walkers themselves. The Waling Dead got an 8.8 rating out of 10 on IMBd, and is currently on Netflix.

3. Lost

After a crazy plane crash, 48 survivors are left stranded on an unknown island. With no help on the way, the survivors must survive the weird and mysterious forces of nature on the island, and other hostile people. Throughout the six seasons, it becomes clear that everyone was placed on that island for some reason, and they're not meant to ever leave the island, follow this action packed, drama filled TV series and watch a group of survivors try and beat the odds and survive on this strange island. Lost got an 8.6 rating on IMBd, and is currently on Netflix.

Destiny calls

Dunder Mifflin

4. The Office

One of the funniest TV series is The Office. This show is about an average group of workers who work at a paper supplying company called Dunder Mifflin. The workers include jokesters, suck-ups, rather weird people, and when they're joined together in the office, it creates some very funny moments. Steve Carrel stars as the boss, Michael, who delivers a great laughs every show. The Office is the best comedy show that has appeared on TV (according to me). The office is currently on Netflix, so go check it out.

5. Modern Family

Again, a comedy strikes. Love laughing? Modern Family will have you laughing until you cry. The show follows your regular suburban families in a hilarious comedy show. These three separate but yet related families will have you laughing until you can't have no more. If you're like me and love to get a good laugh and love watching comedies, then this show is for you. Modern Family isn't on Netflix, but is on DVD. Modern Family got an 8.7 out of 10 rating on IMDb.

6. The Simpsons

Three in a row for comedies. The Simpsons I'm sure is something that you've heard of but maybe have never bothered to watch. The Simpsons is an animated TV show that follows a family, the Simpsons. Whether dealing with their troubled son, Bart, or dealing with the Dad, Homer, you're sure to watch. The Simpsons is a funny, somewhat lesson teaching show that you're bound to love. Currently in its 25th season, the Simpson's is the longest scripted TV series primetime, and has remained one of Fox's top rated TV shows. Personally my favorite animated show of all-time. The Simpsons is not on Netflix, but is available on DVD.

7. Desperate Housewives

Love drama? If so, Desperate Housewives is the perfect show for you. Many secrets and problems occur between the housewives and husbands in this suburban neighborhood. Follow the lives and stories of these housewives as they try and solve the mysterious suicide of one of their neighbors. Even if you're not into dramas, you will still probably like Desperate Housewives. If you're into dramas, you'll absolutely love Desperate Housewives. With murder, affairs, love lives, deceit, and much more, this show will have you wanting to watch more. Desperate Housewives is currently on Netflix. Desperate Housewives got an 7.5 rating out of 10 on IMDb.

TV Comedies

8. The Big Bang Theory

Geeky or not, The Big Bang Theory will have you dying of laughter. The story is about two nerdy physicists who are best friends and roommates. After a beautiful roommate moves across the hall, the two socially awkward men learn the struggle to communicate with others. Also follows two other friends of Sheldon and Leonard. No matter if you're a geek or not, I promise that this show will have you laughing so hard you will get abs. Arguably one of the funniest TV shows, it's a must watch. The Big Bang Theory is not currently on Netflix, but is available on DVD. The Big Bang Theory received a rating of 8.7 out of 10 on IMDb.

9. Dexter

Dexter Morgan is a blood splatter expert for the Miami Metro Police Department. When not working, Dexter is a completely different person- a serial killer. He doesn't go out killing just anyone though. He kills people who have done harm to others. This action packed show follows the activities of Dexter as he works for the police by day, and kills by night. This crazy storyline provides amazing shows and will have you at the edge of your seat the whole time. Dexter is currently on Netflix. Dexter has received an amazing rating of 9.1 out of 10 on IMDb.

10. Numb3rs

Don't let the title fool you. It may seem like a show about math, but it's far more than that. Don Epps, head of the FBI in Los Angeles, uses the help of his genius brother, Charlie, who is a mathematician, solve crimes. His patterns of solving crime and math work help his brother solve a ton of crime, and this action filled TV show is full of action and even math! Numb3rs is currently on Netflix. Numb3rs received a 6.9 out of 10 on IMDb.

I recently got hooked on Breaking Bad...incredible show! I remember Brian Cranston from Malcolm in the Middle and he's such a phenomenal actor that when you watch him in Breaking Bad you completely forget the goofy character he used to play.
