Breaking Bad is Where It Started For Many

I was already addicted to Binge Watching when Jessie and His Science Teacher Broke Bad

The new rage, and it's been this way for awhile, is to binge watch television shows on venues like Netflix and Amazon Prime. I think my first honest to goodness 'full watch' was 'LOST' which was a really nice treat. I'd always been interested in the series, however I had never the time to watch the show every week. 'Lost' wasn't something one could miss and then get right back into it. To be quite honest, I still struggle with the meaning of 'Lost' and what it all stood for, but I appreciated the symbolism of the what's now become 'Cult Classic.' I also appreciate.. or maybe I am a bit angry over all of the time lost... (narrrhhh) the various television shows that I've been privvy to binge-watch over the years. Oh, how I've enjoyed so many bad and good story lines, so many evil and inherently good characters and the relationships they form. I have compiled a list of extremely enjoyable shows which I found binge-watch-worthy. I hope you enjoy them too!

My kids tell me that binge watching is a sign of depression, but I seem to enjoy it... so whatever..LOL

Me in my standard jammies on the bed position, ready to binge watch- do I look depressed?

The Worst Thing I've Binged Watched (Guilty Pleasure)

Okay, so I had never heard of Jersey Short before but I found that a lot of my friends were using 'Jersey-Shore-isms' quite frequently and while I decided to watch only the first episode to see how extraordinarily stupid it was- I found myself watching ever season with disgust- but I couldn't look away from the game and their grotesque shenanigans. Well- at least I know what 'Gym Tan Laundry' mean.. And, what DTF is.... Yeahhh Buddy.

Crazy People- Wow!

My Most Favourite Binge Watches- Brothers and Sisters and LOST

Sally Fields is Almost Perfect, LOST is Truly Art

Brothers and Sisters is the story of a family who centers around their Matriarch, Sally Field, after the untimely death of their father. Five children and their various partners, spouses and drama grace us on screen- and we love each of them in our own way. The wine flows freely, real issues are discussed, the acting is superb, and I am only sorry it cancelled after only four seasons. I loved every moment of Brothers and Sisters.

LOST is a work of Art, and although I have to say I really didn't 'get' a lot of the symbolism, I hung on for dear life to see what would happen next- and to figure out just where in the hell they were. There were so many questions and things that made no sense- but I let loose and enjoyed the ride- and I am glad I did!

Leave Some Comments!

I have been binge watching tv so long that I've forgotten which shows I have and have not watched. If you can think of any, I will add them to my list. I love getting ideas from others!

I don't binge watch but it may be the way to go these days. I have been avoiding television shows because they tend to be continuing series so it's hard to keep up with them if an episode gets missed. Then there are the scheduling changes and untimely cancellations :-(

OMG- if I saw Sawyer in a restaurant I am afraid I would have to jump his bones that second (LOL)- He wouldn't have a choice! ha! How cool, I am so jealous! I did watched the first couple seasons of The Walking Dead because my son made me- and they were ok- but like I said, I just don't find the Zombie thing groovy.

      Thanks for the comments!

Love your hub! I have to admit, I binge-watched Breaking Bad (loved it). Then I finally watched an episode of The Walking Dead, although I hate zombies and gore and violence. I got hooked and binge-watched it. The trick was to hide my eyes whenever zombies showed up and wait until they were all dead before I looked. I loved Lost although at the end I was literally lost as what it all meant. Here's a Sawyer story; I actually saw Josh Holloway and his entourage at a Mexican food restaurant (Guerro's) in Austin, Texas. He sat nearby and I tried not to stare. He's so good-looking in person and seemed charming and was having a great time with his friends. Binge-watching is fun and I'm not depressed in the least! Voted Up.

Wow you have some of the best shows on this list! I loved watching Dexter, Once Upon a Time, Revenge, HIMYM, Lost, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, GoT, and still following Pretty Little Liars. These are truly great shows, and I think doing what gives us pleasure is a sign of a healthy mind.. definitely not depression or anxiety :)

I don't binge watch, but I enjoy a few of the series you listed. I also have become a fan of Silicon Valley and Agent Carter most recently. I will have to wait awhile for their new seasons, though.

Definitely agree with your Breaking Bad and Orange is the New Black selections. Presently I have started to watch Turn on Net Flix, which I find entertaining. Great hub.

Your list is missing "The Walking Dead" - almost everyone I know who watched "Breaking Bad" and "Game of Thrones" also watches this show. Definite must see.

My fiancé and I just finished watching "Daredevil" on netflix last week. It's also a very addictive show (even despite a few "how did he know that's there if he's blind!??!?" moments).

Just some friendly feedback on your hub (please take it as you will or disregard it if you hate it) - if you add more information to this hub such as which show had the most views or highest ratings, your hub will be more informative (less of an opinion post) and will receive a higher score. Talk about how you watch TV. Is it cable, netflix, hulu? What are the pro's and con's of each service for a serial series watchers? Give your list a top 5 or top 10 recommendation followed by everything else. This will be more engaging for your audience.
