Best Internet Websites For Young Children

Updated on March 24, 2013

Internet Info and Websites for our Children

 here are so many websites available to you, your husband and your children. Which websites are the best for your children? Well, I have researched this topic a lot because I want my son to learn, be entertained and just enjoy the best websites available on the Internet today. However, with all the games available on the Internet, I look for websites best for education, to make my son learn more. Education is critical with these young minds, so make sure you pick the right websites that will education your children.

Best Websites for our young ones

In my opinion, the best websites are categorized as; entertaining, fun but most of all teaches your children about manners, using their brain (I know it sounds simply, but watching TV does not involve using their brain), increasing their knowledge, advancing their skills, education on math, language, art, music and reading, also, developing hand-eye coordination and being the best student possible. However, let’s not forget that they have to be fun because they are young children.

Best Websites that I recommend for young children (boys or girls);

Starfall This is a tremendous site for children between 3-8 years of age. It is an educational website for getting your child ready for kindergarten and first grade. This website will help your kids learn how to read. Your children leap from level 1 to level 12 in the first grade in reading. This website will help to make that leap happen because it assists in sounding out words and using phonics for your child to learn. In addition, the schools will use this website too. I highly recommend it, education is crucial to the development of your kids.

PBS Kids This is perfect for kids from 4-8 years of age. They will learn about coloring, words, music and many other items. This website is perfect for children getting ready to go to school. It has so many educational activities that you can play and explore with amazing games on how to do math, read or just be creative. Smart website to help kids explore their creativity side.

Math Playground This website will help any kid needing to work on elementary math. More importantly, this site will help education your children with division, addition, fractions, subtraction and so much more. This website is hard but your children will learn math through puzzles, building blocks and word problems. This maze of activity is impressive and important for each child. Try it; you will be astonished by how quickly our children will learn elementary math.

Barbie Website this one is fun, has everything for girls and you can play dress up too. It's unique and has many zillions things to create from clothes to shoes to what are you going to wear barbie? All girls will love this site!

Disney Go this website is a fun, educational based website. Superb for kids around 4-7 but great learning activities and knowledge based tools in each game. It has the "what's different" and compare photos. My son loves all the games and learning tools. Various episodes of Disney TV shows are available too. Try it!

Scooby Doo Kids this site has bunches of kids games, TV episodes, videos and much, much more. You can download varies videos and games onto your computer too. It has limited education but it is fun and safe for you children. In fact, I think this is the safest website for playing (kids from 5 to 10 years of age). Some of the games teach hand-eye coordination along with etiquette on good manners. However, the playing of these safe and vast games, videos and crushing downloads is just plan exciting for all.

Cartoon Network Batman, Spiderman, Ben 10, Johnny Bravo and many, many more shows that are available on this website. In fact, you can watch the TV shows, various episodes, play the games or buy the ring tones. It has everything on this site. In fact, it’s for many different ages through the teenage years. However, I think that most boys between 6 and 10 will love it best. Limited education on this website but lots of activities, action sports, mind games and trick videos.

Story Place interactive stories in English or Spanish for first and second graders. Stories are adaptations of classic fairy tales. Educational website that helps children learn to read and to understand stories, one of the best reading sites for kids.

Kids National Geographic great place to learn about animals, watching video's, playing games and learning about all the creatures in our world. It's exciting and fun but educational all at the same time.

These are my recommendations for the best websites for children. However, it depends on what you need for your children. Explore your options but check into these sites and see if you agree with me.

Learning is the key to your child’s future and in order to be effective it needs to be fun when they are young. Successful education begins with you, as a parent, but I hope these websites will facilitate these activities and learning in your home. Education is critical for our young children but the Internet has captured our interests and it is the future, so start your children on education websites that show them (and you as a parent) how to have fun when learning.

      I don't have any kids (that I know of) as of yet but I do have one niece and a nephew that are young enough to enjoy these sites. I'll make sure to pass on the info. Thanks!
