Chick Flicks You NEED to Watch!

Updated on July 1, 2017

First on the list we have, the all time hit Mean Girls! If you haven't watched this one, HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK? Teenager Cady Heron had been home schooled by her parents in Africa until she comes to Illinois and joins a public school. This is when all the drama begins and Cady is exposed to the teenage high school drama of cliques, popularity and boys! This movie is full of drama, comedy and all you could ever wish for in a chick flick.

Fun fact:

  • Linsay Lohan had originally auditioned for the role of Regina George.
  • And Rachel McAdams had originally auditioned for Cady's part

Up next on the list is, In Her Shoes. The main role is played by none other than, Cameron Diaz and she kills it! Messy party girl, Maggie is kicked out of her father and step mother's house and is taken in by her responsible and hard-working sister, Philadelphia lawyer Rose. Maggie's irresponsible behavior leads to her sister kicking her out of the house as well. The sisterly bond is saved by their grandmother whom they never knew existed and they learn some complicated truths about the family.

And on the third number we have my personal favorite, Easy A. This film features actress Emma Stone, who plays a high school student Olive. She being a clean-cut teen, decides to spice things up by telling a little lie about losing her virginity to her best friend, that spreads over the school like fire. Watch this movie to learn how boys around campus start asking her for favors which ends up ruining her reputation.Best part? The entire film is in story format, being told by Olive herself on her webcam.

Fun fact:

Emma Stone playing Olive a high school teen, has actually never been to a high school herself! She was home schooled since the age of 12.

Amanda Bynes best movie to date! Viola, who has intense love for football is forced to pose as her twin brother, Sebastian, and take his place at a new boarding school mean while, Sebastian is off to pursue his music. Viola falls in love with her roomate, Duke who is played by the very charming, Channing tatum! However, a twist takes place when Viola's twin returns from London ahead of schedule but has no idea that his sister has already replaced him on campus.

Fun Fact:

1. Producers actually wanted Jessy McCartney to play the role of Sebastian because of how similar him and Amanda looked.

Had enough of the romance in the movies? Well then this one is perfect for you to watch! Single mother Tess Coleman and her teenage daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan) are completely different from each other! A day after receiving a rather absurd fortune cookie from a Chinese restaurant, their bodies are switched. This twist in the movie is what turns it into a great comedy and helps them both understand and respect each other.

Fun Fact:

1. This was Lindsay Lohan's second movie after the hit, The Parent Trap.

Does justice to the amazing book by Nicholas Sparks.

Grab some tissues if you're going to watch this one! High school senior (Shane West), who has no aims in his life, falls in love with a guileless young woman (Mandy Moore) he and his friends once bullied. She belongs to a religious family and has never been in a relationship before. Watch how the both fall in love and develop an inspirational relationship in he learns the painful truth about her life.

Fun fact:

1. At the time of filming, Moore was 17 years old and West was 23.

2.Like her character, Moore describes herself as religious.

Childhood friends Julianne Potter (Julia Roberts) and Michael O'Neal (Dermot Mulroney) made a pact to marry each other if they were still single by the age of 28. Now there's only four days left till her turning 28 and O Neal announces that he's marrying a mesmerizing 20 year old named Kimberly(Cameron Diaz). Julianne realizing that she's in love with her best friend, tries to do everything in her power to stop the wedding from taking place, unfortunately for her, she is appointed as the maid of honor and that's when things get far too complicated.

Sandra Bullock, who plays Grace is an FBI agent that has to go undercover to protect the Miss United States pageant. Although her looks might to justice to her place as a contestant, she completely lacks refinement and femininity. Watch this movie to see the journey of Grace from being 'one of the boys' to the finals of the pageant.

Fun Facts:

1.Bullock wore a wig for most of the film.

2. A large amount of the beauty pageant audience was made up of cardboard cut outs.
