Billy The Exterminator A&E

Updated on October 25, 2010

A&E Television Show

Billy the exterminator is a reality tv show on the A&E television network. The show used to be called the exterminators, but was changed. Apparently it seemed like a more logical approach to change it to "Billy the exterminator" because he is the main person in the show and it suited better. Perhaps to get more views and people would be more interested. Billy was actually on the show dirty jobs before he made his debut on his show. Dirty jobs is a show on the discovery channel network with "Mike Rowe." He finds jobs that are dirty and often dangerous as well. Dirty jobs must of thought they could make a show out of these exterminators and there you have it. He was on one episode of dirty jobs before he had his show.

Billy the exterminator is a pretty interesting show. The company of exterminators is called vex con. They have a black van that they travel around in and are always in black clothing. Billy has quite an appearance. He is usually wearing sunglasses,a black hat, and wears these black arms bands. I am not sure how long he has been like this, but I would assume that this would boost the shows ratings quite dramatically. Hes does not have the average exterminator appearance as most would think.

The show has a similar documented style to "American Pickers" on the history channel. You see Billy and his brother in the van traveling to a location to exterminate pests. He is called by his mom via cellphone who informs him of a problem that needs to be dealt with This is usually how the episodes start out. American Pickers is done in the same fashion except the people are not related. Theirs a lot of different pests they have to get rid of such as bees, bats, alligators, snakes, and other types of animals and rodents. Billy and his brother visit people in need of help to get rid of pests. Its a pretty cool show and can be pretty educational too. There was this one episode where they went to this lake and had to get rid of an alligator or a crocodile in a pond. People said it will be to dangerous for people that come and also dangerous for the animals. A lot of other episodes involve getting rid of animals coming to peoples residences. Some of these include bees, fire ants, rodents, and other pests in which some can have rabies or be dangerous. Billy's brother is actually allergic to bees and has to be extra careful. Then of course there are times when they need to get rid of snakes. The show may be a reality show, but is educational and is filmed quite well. There always in a different location dealing with pests that need dealing with. Billy is an expert and it definitely shows in the episodes.

The show also has his wife and dad on the show as well. They are not in it as much as they are not with them when they go to get rid of pests. Sometimes theirs some outside drama such as when his dad had heart problems in an episode. Billy also stated in a phone interview that they want to try and eliminate swearing in the show. There's not a ton, but he wants to tone it down a bit. The reason being cause he says kids are coming up to him and copying what he is saying. This obviously is not good thing. Before the show this was a pretty normal group of exterminators now many people are familiar with them and his popularity as risen. You see this with a lot of reality shows that are based on some business.

I think this show will have a lot of seasons. It has some good value to it. It is filmed well and is not your stereotypical group of exterminators. As long as the show keeps going where it is I can see it having many. I advise any who like these business type reality shows to watch it. Its pretty interesting and you might learn something from it. If you liked American Pickers type of camera filming then you will like this. You will also enjoy it if you want to see some animals up and close in which some are very dangerous such as venomous snakes.

BILLY'S SHOW IS AWSOME but, due to the nature of the job he has, sometimes GRUESOME...but always entertaining, fun and educational! I'm very impressed that he is so "green" in his thinking. He always uses products that get the job at hand done but at the same time do not harm any living thing or the environment. WAY TO GO!!!

Just wanted to give Billy the heads up on one thing however....BAT GUANA is not nor ever has been used in any way, shape or form in the manufacturing of mascara eye makeup! You need to research stuff like that on line before making a statement like that on your otherwise PERFECT SHOW!!!

I'll keep on watching, learning, laughing and enjoying your wonderful show and I think Bill is very "hot" too by the way! lol!

      Peace out ya'll!

Billy and the bugs, or bats, or beetles, or beasts just isn't my cup of tea. Good review, though, David.
