Blue Boy Band representing UK - Eurovision Contest

Updated on January 31, 2011

It’s no secret that UK hasn’t done so well in the past few Eurovision Contests. So, there will be a new Tactic.

The act that will represent us this time is already a well known boyband. Blue was formed in 2000 and consists of Duncan James, Antony Costa, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe. (L ro R above). They sing and perform very well. I enjoy their music and I am very confident that they will do the nation proud.

To their credit, they have sold over 13 Million Records and won two Brit Awards. Now, that’s a good track record.

Eurovision Executive Producer - Phil Parsons, is thrilled that Blue will be representing the UK this year.  His Quote: ''We have a highly credible act who have had a string of smash hits in this country and they've also been hugely successful around Europe too."

.

This year the Eurovision contest will take place in Dusseldorf, Germany. Blue will be performing a song they wrote called “I can”.

The band are delighted to represent UK and feel it’s a great way to celebrate a decade together. So, please mark the 14 May 2011 in your diary – that’s the big day. As usual, it will be aired Live on TV.

Meanwhile, enjoy 3 of my favourite Blue songs below.

  • Breath Easy.
  • Sorry seems to be the hardest word. (duet with Elton John)
  • One Love.

Good Luck Blue.

** Thanks Ruby, Glad you stopped by. :)

** Hi Prasetio - I'm glad you enjoyed it. Best Wishes.

      ** Cheers Hello Hello.

** Hello Platinum, sorry to hear that. They are playing okay but I have noticed sometimes on Youtube if I want to listen to a video, its blocked - some "legal aspect." It must be the area you live. Nice of you to stop by though.

The second selection is great. Unfortunately, the first and third selections were blocked by a major recording company. Nevertheless, it's a great article.

I love "Blue". "One love" and the remarkable song "Sorry Seem To Be The hardest Words" are my favorite. Thanks for writing this boy band. They are very talented. I really enjoy all the video you gave to us. Vote up. Take care!

** Hi Acaetnna - I hope they do well too. Thanks for stopping.

** Cheers Eiddwen - I have heard some stories too that it's political. I'll be watching the competition closely. It should be based on talent.

** Hi Paul - Lets hope they do the Business.

      Cheers. :)

Another timely hub Lady E, your finger is definitely on the pulse. Hopefully Blue will do the business but they have a mountain of beaurocracy to climb, good luck Blue and thanks for sharing Lady E.

Hi Lady E, Acaetnna has already said what was on my mind!! That the Eurovision sadly is now politically driven.

Every year I say 'Right I am not watching this next year!' and what do I do when next year arrives?? Exactly, watch from beginning to end.

However I do wish Blue all the best.

Thanks for sharing this and the video clips were a treat.

      Take care

      Eiddwen

Hopefully they will do well - I love this band. Is the competition really about the music though or is it just political? I would like to think the best song wins because it is just that - the best song. You are always on trend with you hubs Lady_E thank you.
