The Boogie-Woogie Kid--Matthew Ball

Matthew Ball, a Boogie-Woogie pianist, packed the Guild Hall for a SRO concert at Christ Church Cranbrook’s second Wednesday of the month free concert and high tea. April 11, 2012. Ball opened with one of his own compositions, and then took the audience through a history of boogie-woogie, prefacing each piece with a brief description of its place in the history of jazz. The applause was enthusiastic after each piece, and the crowd gave Ball a standing ovation at the end of his one-hour concert.

Thanks, Feenix, for your comment. We can agree on that, anyway. Ball is a wild man. He played for a solid hour except for a brief intro of each piece.

      Hey, Ralph,

This is a real cool and entertaining hub, and I really do like Matthew Ball's style. In fact, I wish I would have been in attendance at that concert on April 11th.
