Bollywood Heroine Murdered for Her Wealth - Meenakshi Thapar

Updated on May 9, 2013

A Bollywood actress, Meenakshi Thapar, was murdered in April 2012 for her wealth in India by her co-actors after they over heard her talking about her family's wealth.

They kidnapped Meenakshi Thapar and took her to a hotel near the Nepalese border then phoned her parents for a ransom of 1.5 million rupees ($28,655.50 or £18,000), which was not paid in full so the kidnappers strangled her to death. They then decapitated Menakshi Thapar and threw her head out of the bus from which they were travelling back to Mumbai.

Meenakshi Thapar made her debut in 2011 in the horror film called 404. Before she got kidnapped she was working on a film starring alongside Kareena Kapoor called 'Heroine'. She was kidnapped by another actor who had a minor role in it who's name was Amit Jaiswal. With help from his girlfriend, Preety Surin, they kidnapped her and took her to a hotel in the Nepalese border.

When they got there, they phoned Meenakshi Thapar's parents and asked for a ransom. Her parents obliged, but with only part of the ransom that was asked for. The kidnappers strangled her to death and decapitated her into pieces and got rid of the body in a sick manner.

Her body was left in a water tank in Gorakhpur which was the location of the production of the film.

Investigations took place and the police were successful in finding the killers. The Bollywood actress's family are devastated at the brutal way their daughter was murdered. It was not a simple killing, what with her body parts being totally decapitated, the perpetrators obviuosly have got a sick mind.

The Bollywood film industry have sent their sympathies to Meenakshi Thapar's family.

This is a huge loss for the Bollywood film industry, not because of her respective acting talents, but because of the negative message it sends around the world. What happened to Meenakshi Thapar could have been the script of the next Bollywood hit movie, but this was no movie, this was cold blooded murder by some greedy and selfish beggars who had other things on their minds.

The perpetrators were caught with the SIM card from her mobile phone and confessed to the evil crime they have committed.
