Boston's Six Hottest Dance Clubs
Being a major city, as well as a college town, Boston knows how to party. There are places that are upscale and cater to the accomplished and academics with their own sense of decadence. Then there are places that focus on the college experience where body shots are the norm and where an ID is a must. Away from the Ivy League quads of Harvard you can find a thriving EDM/ rave culture. These venues attract the artistic crowds and the corporate folks looking for a place that never seem to close. If you are looking to see the true face of Boston’s club land these venues are your way inside.
The Cure Lounge
The Cure Lounge is a place that embodies the history of one of America first colonies and cities in both the interior and the exterior. It is located in an antique structure dating back to the early years of the city. Originally the Cure functioned as an orchestra area in a theater and a ladies lounge in the past. The people who own the club have updated the look of the interior with lights, lively colors, and interesting furnishings. The result is a place where the records keep spinning. When you step through the doors you will be ensconced in a fresh experience like no other.
The Machine or the Machine nightclub is a one of the major gay clubs in Boston. It has a spacious dance floor some of the hottest special nights in the city and it is still very straight folk friendly. The crowds are welcoming and a lot of effort is put in to selecting the DJs and keep the mood fun and lively. Monday night at the Machine is all-star Monday when they play loads of top forty mixes, Tuesday night is punk night, then there is whatever Wednesdays and Thursday night karaoke and people call the Machine’s karaoke night the best in the city. The weekend starts on Friday, known as Machine night, with Saturday being sin-o-magic Sunday nights have house music.
House of Blues
Surprisingly the House of Blues in Boston is pretty much a genuine club in Boston, and not just a corporate beast, thanks to the overpowering sensibilities of the college kids and the club goers. It’s a bit of a change up as it has live music but a very active dance floor. Some nights it’s a straight up concert venue with bands, producers, and DJs coming through the city at all times. There is food here too and it’s all classically American, but they also serve good drinks all ensconced in that typical House of Blues feel. If you want to dance check out the Foundation Room which always jumping. Though it might not seem like typical choice for club goers this scene is often a refreshing change of pace.
As far as a genuine Boston club scene establishment goes the Underbar nightclub and lounge is the real thing. The place has been around since 2004 and in that time it has reached out to the underground EDM and house music community to become the mappoint of the culture. The Underbar has built an international reputation as a club scene and DJs from all over come to spin here. Which is why the Underbar is packed most nights especially on Saturdays the EDM kids come through and take the place over. The whole thing is made possible by an amazing sound system designed by music maven Angel Moraes who has created some of the best sound systems on the continent and for sure the best in Boston.
The Rumor nightclub has become is one of Boston's hottest nightclubs. The Rumor can be found in the Theater District where most of the really fun and popular clubs you are likely to find in Boston. The reason the people talk so much about the Rumor has to do partially with the aesthetic beauty of the place and the fact that it has kept the essence of its classic structure. Of course the beautiful people who flock to the place also help its reputation and also add to the global reputation and feel of the Rumor venue. The actual sounds system is of course state of the art and their tight security keeps every one safe.
The Venu Nightclub
If you want a real chill vibe from your lounge or club the the Venue is probably your best bet in Boston. The choice of music here is a cool blend of Latin house and hip-hop in a way that is conducive of relaxing yet fun evening out. However, even though there are still areas where you can dance when the beat kicks in if you are so inclined. The Venu is sleek and fun with smart lines that complement the logo and the modern element that make up the décor and compliment the 6,500 square foot space.
