Bruce Willis to Sue Apple???
Bruce Willis to Sue Apple
It has been reported that actor Bruce Willis is thinking about taking legal action against Apple. The 57-year-old Die Hard actor is seriously thinking about suing Apple because he wants to leave his significantly large music collection to his children when he dies. The eclectic music collection is all digital on iTunes however, iTunes only allows you to borrow tracks rather than own them. Therefore, when he dies the tracks will effectively belong to Apple again.
Willis would like to leave his collection to daughters Rumer,24,Scout,20 and Tallulah who is 18. The digital rights campaigners Open Rights Group are siding with Bruce in taking legal action. Jim Killock a spokesman for Open Rights Group stated: "You can't resell downloads to friends and you are legally not allowed to leave them to anyone in your will. It is great that Bruce Willis is challenging this."
Bruce Willis has a five-month old daughter with his new partner Emma Heming. He would also like to leave something to her. He has reportedly spent thousands on his music collection and would like to leave something special for his children. The collection is said to include a wide range of music including, Led Zepplin, The Beatles and various other classic tracks.
Willis wants to challenge the Apple by stating that he would like family "trusts" to be able to become holders of his music.
iTunes can freeze accounts of people who are believed to be passing on music. It is also well known that music from the iTunes store can only be transferred to Apple devices.
