But I was supposed to marry Prince William

Updated on October 11, 2011

It’s the wedding of the century. Prince William to marry Kate Middleton and the world is watching.

Uplifting and fanciful, it’s a celebration at Westminster Abbey in London with royalty fit for a princess.

Love is in the air. The dream wedding is about to take place. It’s the storybook romance, the dream of every little girl, to fall in love and marry her prince.

Losing out on Prince Charming and drowning sorrows in a vat of disappointment is for those evil step sisters. That's a funny story but not necessarily true.

The fascination of royalty and the belief that all dreams really do come true inspires people.

For a short time, a person is swept away into a mystical fairy tale. With horse drawn carriages, kings and queens, the marriage of Prince William sparks images of a fairy tale.

Taking a reflective look back at the wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, it was the fairy tale wedding.

The images of innocence and grandeur spoke to our hearts. Princess Diana was the people’s princess. She exemplified what a princess should be.

Her legacy lives on and the memory of Princess Diana is once again in the forefront. As her eldest son is about to embark an incredible journey of marriage, her presence is heartfelt.

Princess Diana made a difference. A compassionate woman she inspired every heart she touched.

Searching the internet these days, it’s hard not to come across a story or news clip containing the latest on the royal wedding.

With images and paparazzi across the globe, the country is watching. What is going to happen next? Will the wedding be showcased in style with British traditions? Once again the mounted soldiers will escort the wedding carriage.

Much like a Cinderella wedding, she marries her prince.

The big day previews have been captured in the media for months. The spotlight has been shining on this British couple. The official announcements to the official programs were revealed.

Attending this royal event is not a state function and President Barack Obama was not invited. The invitations went out with celebrities like Elton John and the famous Beckhams expected to attend.

The social media is the backbone of this royal wedding.

With such media frenzy, all eyes are on the royal nuptials. Prince Charles will be in attendance to support his first born son.

Marrying into royalty will require discretion.

The pressure of living under the public eye is insurmountable. Getting married creates anxiety and celebrity weddings are under scrutiny.

Prince William’s life is going to be different and Kate Middleton will be compared to Princess Diana. A tall legacy to live up to which the paparazzi will certainly follow.

Princess Diana once said, "Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you."

She was a true matriarch and a real princess in every sense of the word.

What is the hype all about

Why are people excited about this royal wedding? What is all the hype really about?

Love places people on pedestals.

Idealizing someone will only cause hurt and sorrow. Finding a love match requires insight. A match made in heaven represents getting that desired soul mate.

While people are still looking for love, being realistic in a marriage’s expectations will alleviate potential problems.

With the royal wedding, for one day, a person can imagine, what it means to be living like royalty. Magical and mystical, the Prince and the Princess, it’s about the ideal partnership. A fairytale, a storybook romance, traditional castles, and a royal wedding, it’s what creates dreams.

But I was supposed to marry Prince William is a gathering of women celebrating the royal wedding. It's one way to be part of this royal gala. An event being held in Chicago with the first 50 women in attendance receiving a tiara at Jack’s Bar and Grill.

I'v had recurring dreams now ever since the royal wedding, about very grand weddings I have a hub on this too. I don't know if it's related, but interesting. I just adore the Princess Diana dance with John Travolta you have here, another great hub.

Hi Fossillady. I'm sure you'll see the replays. The media has been broadcasting parts of it along with special moments all day. Either way I agree with you.. they really are great together. And a whole different generation at that.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I think they are going to be a happier couple than Diana and Charles! For one thing they are both in love with one another! Diana and Charles didn't stand a chance! I missed the wedding, but I hope it will replay!

The Princesses and Queens in history have had a poor percentage of happiness. I think I will stick with my beautiful farmer. He always did treat me like a Princess.

      Thanks for a great read.
