Calling All Nerds!

Updated on February 16, 2016

Welcome Fellow Nerds!

I know the frustration of finishing that TV or movie series you loved. Suddenly your life is full of emptiness. No one understands this horrible void you have in your life. This list may help you find something new to comfort you in your time of need. I've divided the list into 4 categories. Some nerds enjoy more fantasy themed stories and others go for more of a science fiction/Brainy/Marvel theme. Here's a little bit of everything. I'm not rating this content. The order of my listings have no meaning.

Top Science Fiction/Brainy/Marvel Movies!

1. Hunger Games series.

2.. Divergent series.

3. Maze Runner series.

4. Sherlock Homes 1 & 2. (Robert Downy Jr. and Jude Law version.)

5. Star Wars Episodes 1 - 7

6. Star Trek.

7. Transformers.

8. Sky Captain World of Tomorrow. (This movie gets overlooked, but it's a real gem!)

9. X Men.

10. Guardians of the Galaxy.

11. Captain America 1 & 2.

12. Spider Man. (I enjoyed both the Toby McGuire version and the Andrew Garfield version.)

13. Avengers. (If you love Marvel, you will love Avengers!)

14. Thor 1 & 2. (People just watch Thor to see Chris Hemsworth. He is the whole point of both the movies. No questions asked.)

15. Iron Man 1 - 3. (Good movies if wanting to smack Tony Stark doesn't detract from your enjoyment.)

If you're really into the super hero scene then go ahead and check out The Wolverine, Batman, Superman, and The Incredible Hulk. They aren't my personal favorites, but deserve an honorable mention.

Top Science Fiction/Brainy/Marvel TV Shows.

1. Sherlock. (Yes, it's as great as everyone says.)

2. Arrow. (This show has caused me many sleepless nights..because it's just so good!)

3. Flash. (A have a lot of friends who love this show. I personally prefer Arrow.)

4. Revolution. (This show may give you irrational fears of power outage. I highly recommend it!)

5. Falling Skies. (If you're into aliens, you will like Falling Skies. If not, then not so much.)

6. Agents of Shield.

7. Smallville

8. Heroes. ( A little darker than one might expect.)

Top Fantasy Movies!

1. Lord of the Rings. (Duh! If you don't like LotR, then you're a disgrace to the nerd society!)

2. The Hobbit Movies. (Good, but not as good as Lord of the Rings.)

3. The Princess Bride. (You'll think it's strange the first time you watch will grow on you. Trust me. It's iconic.)

4. Harry Potter 1 - 8. ( As with many movies, you will appreciate them more after reading the books.)

5. Narnia 1 - 3. (The first 2 are the best in my opinion.)

6. Percy Jackson. 1 - 2. (Don't take these movies seriously and you'll enjoy them.)

Top Fantasy TV Shows!

1. Once Upon a Time. (My personal favorite! Everyone should give this a shot. The seasons keep getting better!)

2. The Shannara Chronicles. (This has elves, magic, and dark forces. What else cold a fantasy lover wish for?)

3. Game of Thrones. (This isn't one of my favorites, but I can definitely see the allure.)

4. Merlin. (This show is older, but has a lot of the classic fantasy tales.)

5. Shadow Hunters.

Honorable Mention.

A lot of these stories have books and comics they are based on. I highly recommend checking out the books to The Hobbit, Hunger Games, Sherlock Holmes, and Harry Potter. If you enjoy fantasy, another honorable mention is the Inheritance Series. They made the first book, Eragon into a movie, but I couldn't make myself add the poor quality film to this list.

What other nerdy entertainment deserves a top spot? Let me know in the comments!
