The elegant Cameron Diaz

Who is she?

Cameron Diaz is an well known American actress born on August 30, 1972. She is a classic beauty with good acting skills, a killer body and a smile that could brighten up any room. She is regarded as one of the sexiest and most beautiful actresses in Hollywood.

She started off as a model, but this long-legged beauty's modeling career was cut short when she was offered the movie role of a lifetime: starring opposite Jim Carrey in The Mask in 1994. Since then, Cameron has starred in other wildly popular films including There's Something About Mary (1998), Being John Malkovich (1999), Any Given Sunday (1999), Charlie's Angels (2000), Vanilla Sky (2001), and Gangs of New York (2002).

Cameron Diaz quote: "My Latin roots are very strong. All my life, because I'm blonde and blue-eyed, people who aren't Hispanic can't believe I am. And people who are Hispanic always think I'm not because I don't look like them. Being Latin is part of who I am and I bring that part to every role."

Early Years

Cameron Diaz was born in San Diego, California. Her second-generation Cuban-American father, Emilio Diaz, worked as a foreman for an oil company, and her mother, Billie Early (who has English, German and Cherokee Native American ancestry), worked as an exporting agent. Diaz attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School at the same time of rapper Snoop Dogg, they also went to the school at the same time. During her school days, she was called Skeletor by her classmates because she was so thin.

As she was growing up, Cameron was, like most girls, listening to modern music and acting wild. And by her mid-teens, Cameron began attending Hollywood parties and staying out until the wee hours of the morning. It was during this party phase of her life that Cameron ended up meeting a well-connected man who would change her whole life.

Jeff Dunas spotted Cameron while she was out one night and told her that he could sign her up with the Elite modeling agency. Although Cameron initially thought his proposition was somewhat fishy, she took his card and discussed it with her family and friends.

After leaving Long Beach and traveling around the world as a model, and appearing in magazines like Mademoiselle and Seventeen, Cameron returned to California at 21, with thoughts of acting on her mind.
