Carl the Crazy Cactus (A hub for your little ones)

Updated on January 9, 2010

Carl the Crazy Cactus

Some of Carl's Friends

Carl is a cactus - a crazy cactus. Carl loves to wear his cowboy hat and cowboy boots because he lives in the desert. His cowboy hat keeps the sun off of his face, and his boots protect his feet from snakes and other sharp, pointy things - things that make you say "ouch". Do you know some other things that make you say "ouch"?

Carl likes to run around in the desert yelling "Yippee ki yay!" all day long. Can you yell "Yippee ki yay!" really loud?

More than anything, Carl wants to ride a horse like a real cowboy, but he can't find a horse that will let him ride. This makes Carl the Crazy Cactus sad. You see, Carl the Crazy Cactus is covered with sharp pokers, and horses don't like to get poked.

So Carl just runs around the desert pretending that he's on a beautiful white horse. He likes to play make-believe. He likes to pretend that he's a sherriff and that he is going to throw all of the bad cacti in jail. Cacti is a word that means more than one cactus.

One thing that Carl doesn't like is getting his sharp pokers stuck in his boots and his cowboy hat. This makes Crazy Carl even crazier! What is Carl the Crazy Cactus going to do?

Carl decides that the only way to solve his problem is to stand very still. This way none of his sharp pokers get stuck in his boots and his hat.

After a few days, Carl the Crazy Cactus realizes that he is much happier just standing still.  But he can still pretend he's a cowboy.

If you go to the desert in Arizona, you can see Carl standing there calm as can be. Now people call him Carl the Calm Cactus.

Carl would love for you to come to the desert and see him sometime. Bring your cowboy hat and cowboy boots and walk up to Carl the Calm Cactus and tell him hello. He would like that very much.

Ni - I have no idea. I'm guessing that nobody would want to write on those subjects for fear of the way they would be perceived. If you find something, let me know.

@Stan Fletcher: yes, as a matter of fact. Most hubs have too many overly big words for my personal taste. I prefer booger and toe jam treatises.

Do you know where I can find writing of this kind?

I am truly gratified that Carl has taken our advice and eternally stands outside to play.
