List of Celebrities Who Are Mean or Rude
Some Celebrities Aren't Very Nice
Let's face it: despite how they often appear on television or in films, some celebrities really aren't nice people. In fact, some are downright mean and rude - especially to fans! (They seem to forget that it's their fans who made them celebrities in the first place.)
With that in mind, it seems worthwhile to take a look at some celebrities that are known for being somewhat less than personable.
As good-natured Sheriff Andy Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show, he was a much-beloved lawman and single father.
On Matlock, he was a folksy (if somewhat curmudgeonly) lawyer who always managed to catch the bad guy.
In real life, Andy Griffith is known to be a very mean and very rude individual - especially when it comes to fans. In fact, that has been his reputation for decades. In other words, if you bump into him in real life, don't expect hugs and kisses.
***Oddly enough, about a week after I published this hub Andy Grifftith died. It's just a weird coincidence, although I keep having this thought that he Googled himself, read my hub, then keeled over. There's probably no way that happened, but it almost makes me feel like I'm speaking ill of the dead.

You would think that being a high-paid supermodel and dating some of the most eligible bachelors on the planet would mellow a girl out. Not Naomi Campbell.
Ms. Campbell has a well-deserved reputation for beating up on the help - literally. She has been repeatedly accused on numerous occasions of punching, kicking, slapping or otherwise attacking everyone from assistants to housekeepers to drivers. (Apparently one-time beau Mike Tyson left an impression on her.) Not even law enforcement has been immune, with Campbell pleading guilty in 2008 to attacking two police officers at London's Heathrow Airport.
Clearly, Naomi has something of a mean streak. Perhaps therapy would help - except that Campbell attacked and scratched the face of her therapist during a counseling session. (Doesn't sound like therapy's doing much for her, does it? Maybe, like some prisoners, there are some people who can't be rehabilitated with respect to having a nasty disposition.)

A lot of actors are temperamental. (Allegedly it goes with the territory.) Christian Bale would certainly fit that mold. However, it takes a special kind of guy to get arrested for assaulting his own mother and sister, which occurred in 2008.
Unlike most people who try to separate work and home, Bale has obviously never felt the need to confine his temper tantrums to the set. In fact, one would think that the Batman actor would be one chill dude at home after having an infamous, profanity-laced meltdown (in which he chewed up a set director) caught on tape while filming Terminator Salvation. (If I could vent like that to people who ticked me off at work, I'd be the most mellow guy on the planet when I was off the clock.)
If that's not enough, a publicist who represented Bale for years also claimed that the actor was known to be rude to young girls who were his fans and make them cry.
Summary on Mean Celebrities
In short, quite a few celebrities are known for being mean. In addition to those mentioned, others that have developed a reputation for being rude or even hostile include famed quarterback Joe Montana, rapper Ludacris, MLB pitcher Roger Clemens, and actor Russell Crowe.
That said, it has to be understood that celebrities are people, too. Also, a lot of reports regarding the rudeness of certain stars have to be taken with a grain of salt, because fans are not always the nicest people either. Moreover, just as there are stories about celebs being jerks, you will also find stories of those same stars being nice and civil. Regardless, there are mean people in just about every walk of life, so it should come as no surprise that certain celebrities fall into that category. Still, it's the fans who made them celebrities; it would be nice if they didn't forget that.
