Famous People Who Died So Young

Updated on July 28, 2012

Why do so many celebrities die so young from using drugs or alcohol, when they had both fame and fortune? It seems that many, besides being famous also felt they need to be perfect. Whether they were singers, or actors they needed to be perfect and not make any mistakes. The need to be perfect seems to lead to severe depression or stress. Some even feel they have lost their childhood. If an actor or a singer starts early in life then their childhood has been taken from them. Also, if they try to take therapy for their problems, the media seems to attack them. It is a sensational story. It is on the news and in the paper! The actor or singer could feel this problem may lead to harm their career, so they keep it quiet. Lately there seem to be so many that have been killed by drugs or alcohol, but it has not just happend in the last few years. Here are a few examples.

1) Whitney Houston died at the age of 48. She battled her problems with drugs and alcohol for a long time. In the news she was never helped, only criticized for not being able to control it.

2) Amy Whinehouse went though therapy to help her stop drinking. But, she started to drink again. It took only one day for her to die, after weeks of not drinking. The news once again reported all of the episodes of her drug use and alcohol abuse.

3) Micheal Jackson died of propofol and benzodiazepine overdose, even though there was a doctor who was supposed to be watching him. His death was ruled neglectful homicide because the doctor who had prescribed the medication was not present when Micheal Jackson died.

4) Marilyn Monroe was found dead in her home. She had high levels of barbiturates in her blood, so her death was ruled as a suicide. Some still believe it was murder.

5) Elvis Presley, the first corinor's report excluded drugs from the cause of his death. However, an investigation found that he had been prescribed about 5,000 pills in the 8 months before his death.

6) Dana Plate from the television show Different Strokes died from an overdose of two different drugs, a pain killer and a muscle relaxant.

7) Anna Nichol Smith died from eleven drugs in her system. She died just before the death of her son, who also died of a drug overdose.

There are many more that can be listed who have died from drugs and alcohol, it is a sad thing that they gain popularity when they die. The history of their lives are told, as are the troubles of their lives. The media cannot stop, until they have made money. However their is one person who has gone through all of this and has managed not to harm himself. Charlie Sheen was recently fired from a television show for drinking to much. There was also a " Roast of Charlie Sheen" that was exteemly horrible, and vicious. He has managed all of this. Charlie Sheen is different from the others who were filled with pain in this hub. And for that, he has been blessed.

      Hi Michele,

The video: "Illuminati - The Music Industry Exposed [Full Length]"

it is a sad sign of our times that people glory in the agony of others. When the media stops sensationalizing deaths by drug/alcohol abuse, maybe the abuse of teenagers will cut down. We can only pity and pray for the poor celebrities sucked into that horrible world.

Would it be ok to add it to a different hub? If I try to edit this one by putting that in it, people might ignore it. But, if I make a new hub with a name that catches people's attention, more people may read it. Do you think that might work better?

      Do it in both?

There is a whole hub in that video, I agree, but those who saw it in one would just skip it, and those who missed the second hub could watch it.

Your hub leans towards what the video presents, though I suspect you were unaware of the implications!

I intended to write it up, but just do not have the time.

This death made me wonder who the other two were who were due for termination of their contracts?

      John :)

There is a lot of different hubs to write. Even one about those who died from because of the illuminati. I just wrote one small short one. Just like touch the sea with your toe. So far that is all I have done. There is a lot more to go.

MT it is so tragic when a well known artist dies young. We never know what goes on in their troubled minds. It happens not only to singers, but comedians/performers of all kinds. I think you maybe right, it is the need to be the perfect performers which drive them to drink and drugs as well as the craving to be loved by everybody. Sadly, this may always be the case. It really highlights that having money and fame is not a substitute for happiness.

      Thanks for this interesting article.

Thank you for your comment poshcoffee, it is sad. So many people want to have money, but don't have it and are ok. But, then some who do have it are not ok. It is sad. Thanky you again for your comment.

It is catastrophic to see soo many talented and young individuals die from addictions that they weren't helped with. Voted up and away!

Thank you for your comment. It is sad, the problem is the media. They are never left alone, so they can get help.

It's sad to see such talent end in drug abuse. I just hope many take it as a lesson for themselves and stay away from these drugs.

fjohn You are correct. They media follows them everywhere. Like dogs following their prey. Then they are introduced to drugs at parties. Hollywood seems like a crazy place to me.

Thank you very much for your comment.

No one dies too young or too old. Everyone dies just when they are supposed to die. We should then celebrate the contributions of their talents...actions...and learn from their mistakes. And the others who are still here...leave them alone so they can live their lives without some crazy person always trying to get a pic of them doing something. Celebrities are people with a job that so happens to be entertainment...that is all...no more no less!!! Again no one dies too young or too old...no one...God has determined when we will all die. And those of us you have accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior...shall have enternal life with God...in worship!!!

gaeparks Thank you . Accepting Christ does give us eternal life because Jesus did die in order to for us to be forgiven of our sins. We should be so thankful for that.

      God bless you.

To say someoen died too old or too young is to imply that somehow God has lost control of what happens in the lives people...WHICH COULD NOT BE FARTHER FROM THE TRUTH!!! God is in control. To Him be all glory and honor!!!
