Celebrities with a Degree in the Medical Field

There are many celebrities who obtained a college education before becoming popular. Some have decided to gain their education after becoming famous. Here are celebrities that have gained a medical degree. These famous people are now actors, actress, producers, writers, presently famous doctors or have pursued other professions.

Actress Mayim Bialik known for her role in the NBC sitcom ‘Blossom.' She attended UCLA and got a degree in Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and also went on to study for her PHD at UCLA.

Jennifer Ashton

Jennifer Ashton is part of ABC News Medical Unit as a Senior Medical Contributor. She was alsoMedical Correspondent for 'The Early Show' TV Series and also the O’Reilly Factor. She obtained a medical degree from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2000.

Neal Baer is the Executive Producer of Law & Order:Special Victims Unit, ER and Under the Dome. He graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1996.

Actor Michael J. Fox

He was given an honorary doctorate by Sweden's Karolinska Institute in medicine because of research contributions for Parkinson’s disease.

Andrew Ordon is the Co-Star of Talk Show host of “The Doctors”. He received his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine with Honors in Medicine. He completed his General Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery training USC, UCLA and Loma Linda University.

He graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He is the Producer and star of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, Sex Rehab and Sober House. Hunter Tylo is an actress, known for her role as ‘Taylor’ in The Bold and Beautiful. She also was in Melrose Place. Believe it or not, Hunter Tylo studied for her medical degree at New York's Fordham University.

Politician Howard Dean received his M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Author of Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle went to the Edinburgh University Medical School from 1876-1881.
