*Celine Dion - The Voice of an Angel*
Celine Dion - Early Life
With over millions of tickets sold in her shows and over 250 million copies of her albums sold worldwide, Celine Dion is a superstar in both French and English. She is one of the most talented and successful singers in the industry. In May 2008, she received France’s highest award, but her beginnings were slightly more humble.
Celine Marie Claudette Dion was born on March 30, 1968, in Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada. Celine was the youngest of 14 children born to poor parents. Music was a key part of family life and her earliest dream was to be famous. When she was eighteen, at a Michael Jackson concert, she decided she wanted to be a star like him. At the age of 12, Celine Dion recorded a demo tape of a song she had written with her mother. They sent the tape to the manager and producer Rene Angelil, who handled the career of popular French singer Ginette Reno. After hearing the tape and inviting Dion to perform for him in person, Angelil signed her immediately under the condition that he would have complete control over her career.
By the age of 18, Dion had recorded nine French albums and won numerous Felix and Juno awards (Grammy Awards). During this it meant that she needed to work to become an international star, that meant learning English. She spent countless hours studying with a teacher. Dion recorded her first English language album, Unison, in 1990. Like most of her English language albums, it was a collaboration with the songwriter-arranger-musician David Foster. Driven by the Top 5 single "Where Does My Heart Beat Now," (Which is one of her most popular songs from that album) Unison sold more than 1 million copies worldwide.
On September 1, she becomes the first Canadian to receive a Golden Disc in France with her song called "D’amour ou d’amitié", which sold to more than 700,000 copies. She releases a 4th french canadian album, "Les Chemins De Ma Maison". In September, Céline sings at the inauguration of the Theater Félix-Leclerc. Félix Leclerc, who died afterward, is present during the event, and Céline performs his famous song Bozo. At the gala of the Association of the Disc and the Industry of French Canadian Show (ADISQ), she wins her first four awards Félix. Later in the year, she releases a second Christmas album, Chants Et Contes de Noël.
Later in August, she releases the album Mélanie. On September 11, she sings Une colombe for the Pope John-Paul II and thousands of people at the Olympic Stadium in Montréal.
Dion's real breakthrough into pop music stardom came in 1992, when she recorded the theme to Disney's hit animated feature Beauty and the Beast, a duet with Peabo Bryson. The song ("Beauty and the Beast") made it to No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won both a Grammy and an Academy Award. It was featured on her second English album, Celine Dion, which became her first gold record in the United States and sold more than 12 million copies internationally. The undeniable success of her self titled effort, also including the hit "If You Asked Me To," which made it to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No.1 on the adult contemporary chart, allowed Dion to launch her first headlining tour in the United States.

Celine and Rene
It was a big year for Dion and Angélil. Despite the fact their relationship was still a secret to the general public, the two became engaged. Two years into their engagement, Dion and Angélil still hadn't gone public with their relationship. Celine says her mom saw it coming, and was none too happy about the age gap between them. She also mentioned that "It was very difficult for her," Dion said regarding her mom, who's now 86 years old. "When I told her I had some really strong feelings for Rene she tried everything to kill him and make me snap out of it."
The two married on Dec. 17 1994, in an extravagant ceremony at Montréal's Notre-Dame Basilica. Celine wore a silk creation by Mirella and Steve Gentile complete with a 20-foot train and an enormous, Swarovski-crystal tiara that had to be sewn onto her head! Five years into their marriage, Celine and René renewed their wedding vows in an Orthodox ceremony at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas.
"I'm not surprised that we married each other, because we have the same dreams," she continues. "We have the same goals. We respect each other." After discovering a lump in his neck, Rene Angelil is diagnosed with throat cancer. Celine takes two years off to be with her husband as he undergoes two operations and six weeks of radiation treatment. In an interview Celine says that "When something like this happens to you it hits you so hard, But I felt very strong because I said to myself, 'Rene needs me maybe for the first time in my life.'"

In June 2012, Dion's official website announced that during April and May, the singer began recording songs for her next English and French albums which were to be released in the fall of 2012. The English album was to feature studio versions of previously unreleased songs from Dion's Las Vegas show, Celine, as well as several brand new tracks. In August 2012, her website confirmed that a cover of Journey's "Open Arms," which opens Dion's Las Vegas show, will be included on the upcoming English-language album. The album also includes works with the famous singer Stevie Wonder on the song "Overjoyed." After a little promotion of the first single "Loved Me Back to Life" in the United States in September 2013, another new track, "Somebody Loves Somebody" premiered on 17 October 2013.
The last moments for Rene..
After raising their 3 beautiful children, Rene Charles said Goodbye to Celine after his Cancer returned and his battle started again. It doesn’t seem possible that a widow could say goodbye so beautifully and gracefully, but Celine managed to do it. After famously standing for hours at his wake to greet the mourners as they passed through the Basilica, Celine was even more stunning in the moment when she kissed René’s casket and said goodbye for the last time. Rene will not only be missed by Celine and her family but also by the entire world and fans around. Rene Angelil passed away Jan. 14th 2016.
Overall, Celine Dion is the most respected, beautiful singer we have known and for sure has been blessed with great talents. She has the voice of an angel and will continue her wonderful career and surprise us with her lovely songs.
