Child's Play: Movie Review

Summary: Charles Lee Ray is a criminal, a killer to be exact. When the cops track him down Ray uses an ancient spell to take over the body of a doll. Charles Lee Ray becomes Chucky. He spends the film trying to get out of the doll and back into a human body leaving terror and bloodshed along the way. Don Mancini wrote this and the other five Chucky movies and the sight of the doll stabbing and choking people was frightening. Joe Renzetti did the music but honestly it wasn't scary or dramatic in any form. Only a shot through the heart can end the terror of Chcuky.

Fear Factor: A+

Acting: B

Drama: B+

Music: C

Plot: A-

Final Thought: The best film in the series without a doubt.

Child's Play 2: Movie Review

Summary: Chucky was supposedly killed in the first film but the toy company starts producing Good Guy dolls again to cover up the killer doll stigma the company has attached to it. Bad Idea. Chucky returns in doll form and he is still trying to catch young Andy Barclay so he can have his soul and become human again. John Lafia reprises his role as director and did a great keeping the fear factor in tact in the sequel. The plot stayed true to the original with Chucky still pursuing Anthony Barclay for his soul while committing a crime spree along the way. Chucky is made again after the Good Guy doll company wants to cover up the controversy surrounding a criminal doll.

Fear Factor: A-

Acting: B-

Drama: C+

Music: C

Plot: B+

Final Thought: This film is scary and stays true to the original although not quite as frightening.

Child's play 3: Movie Review

Summary: Chucky drove Andy's mom crazy and she is sent to a mental institution while Andy Barclay is sent to a military school. After Chucky tracks Andy down at the school he soon realizes he doesn't need Andy anymore and he can transfer his soul into anyone. Brad Dourif returns for the third time as the voice of chucky, the mean killer doll. The music once again is nothing special and the acting is not nothing to write home about either I will say it's got high drama and it's still scary. The part where the miltary school splits into two teams with rifles with blanks to practice shooting each other but Chcuky replaced the blanks with real bullets. In the end Chcuky is melted down to nothing in a factory.

Fear Factor: B-

Acting: C+

Drama: A

Music: C+

Plot: B+

Final Thought: The third installment is not as good as the first two but still well worth the watch.

Scene From Bride of Chucky (1998)

Chucky has a partner in crime. It's Bonnie and Clyde horror style in the fourth Chucky installment known as "The Bride of Chucky".

The Bride of Chucky: Movie Review

Summary: Charles Lee Ray's girlfriend Tiffany steals Chucky's remains from the police evidence room and brings him back to life via a voodoo chant. She tortures Chucky and he eventually gets her and puts her in a bride doll. This film is more comedy than horror. It's the fourth installment of the series and it's the first to show Chucky with a messed up face with scars, stitches and just a mean look. Eventually the killer couple decide to become human again so they obtain a strange amulet and try to take over two people. Redman makes an appearance in this movie as a director looking to cast Tiffany in a film until she of course becomes a bride doll.

Fear Factor: C+

Acting: C-

Drama: D

Music: C+

Plot: D

Final Thought: This was a corny knockoff and not worthy of the Child's Play franchise.

Scene From Seed of Chucky (2004)

The Seed of Chucky was a silly horror film and the fifth in the Chucky franchise.

The Seed of Chucky

Summary: Easily the worst film in the Child's Play series. Chucky and Tiffany have a child doll named Glen. It's a comedy horror like Bride of Chucky is and its the first in the franchise to show any nudity. Like all the Chucky films this one is rated R. This movie is weird to say the least but as usual Chucky and Tiffany have got some slaughtering to do. Billy Boyd plays as Boyd the baby doll. Although this movie is not worth the time in my opinion it is full of murder scenes although none are unique.

Fear Factor: C-

Acting: D

Drama: D-

Music: C

Plot: F

Final Thought: Easily the worst of the six Chucky movies because it is extremely silly all the way through.

Curse of Chucky DVD

Curse of Chucky

Summary: The Curse of Chucky is the sixth film in the franchise and the only one to go strait to video. It ignores the previous two silly Chucky films and returns to the scary roots of the first three Child's Play movies. Chucky is sent in the mail to a disabled girl in a huge house but she soon learns the truth of Charles Lee Ray. This is the first movie to give details of Chucky's life before he was inside the doll, a prequel of sorts if you will.

Fear Factor: A-

Acting: B

Drama: B+

Music: B

Plot: A

Final Thought: Aside from the original this is the best Chucky film because it is scary and it also has a descent plot.
