Probably the only reason you may not know the name of Media Personality, Belle Holder, is because she has spent the better part of professional career working in Vancouver, Canada; and now she's raising a family on the paradise island of Barbados.
But, all of that is about to change as she makes her way here to the United States and a career full of promise.A passionate media professional with a resume as extensive and diverse as her personality, Belle Holder meets each new challenge with a smile and an unshakable tenacity.
As a a teen her family relocated to Vancouver where she discovered her penchant for media broadcasting and television. There, she became the host of radio shows, The Morning Drive-by, Groove Me and Caribbean Sounds. Not limited to the radio airwaves, Belle created and wrote The Afro News’ first fashion and entertainment column, The Style In You! Soon the journalism and broadcasting graduate, who is also a former model and dancer, took her brand of Caribbean and Canadian cultural duality to television screens in Vancouver, B.C. as the host of Channel M's World Beats.
Fueled by her desire and belief that she could make a positive contribution to the Caribbean media landscape, she relocated to Barbados in 2005, securing a spot as a television host and producer with the national broadcaster, CBC. Belle quickly became the darling of morning television as one of the host of CBC’s Mornin’ B’dos. During her time with the station she has won four Caribbean Broadcasting Union awards for her television and radio productions, Real Men Dance, The River Speaks, Green Living and Explore Dominica. The CBU covers the entire Caribbean, as well as Cuba, Netherland Antilles and Suriname and enjoys associate memberships with the U.S.A, Canada, France, Netherlands and the U.K.
Belle further endeared herself to the entire Eastern Caribbean and viewers throughout the Diaspora, who log on via the World Wide Web, when she became the host of the Digicel Rising Stars an EC wide singing competition vis-à-vis American Idol.
Viewers and listeners are drawn in by Belle’s open honesty and down to earth approach, as she is never afraid to ask the tough questions. She is equally comfortable in front of the camera as a host or behind the camera as creator, writer, producer and creative director.Outside of her work commitments, Belle is a media champion for people living with disabilities and recently created a public relations plan for The Barbados Council for the Disabled, aimed at further developing their FAB Campaign to ensure a Fully Accessible Barbados.
For the health enthusiast whose motto is, ‘Feel the fear and do it anyways’, her career is reaching a new chapter and she believes there are many great stories to be discovered and shared.

HER charismatic personality and signature voice thrill viewers of the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation's (CBC) daily wake up show, Mornin' Barbados. Now she wears a new cap as the host of the Digicel Rising Stars 2006 series. She is Belle Holder, whose refreshing smile and impressive credentials made her the number one choice for the popular Digicel talent series which is telecast every Sunday night on CBC Channel 8. Expressing her feelings on her new role, Holder said: I felt very excited and honoured to be associated with the Digicel brand, especially on a project like this where I get to travel across the region and meet interesting people. ... Holder, a Barbadian-born health enthusiast and former African dance performer, previously resided in Canada where she enjoyed a diverse media career including a stint as a radio announcer at Co-op Radio 102.7 FM CFRO Vancouver. She co-hosted Caribbean Sounds' and The Morning Drive-by' radio shows, did voice-overs, conducted on-air interviews and wrote, edited and proof read public service announcements. She was also a Style & Entertainment Columnist for a newspaper called The Afro News', for which she wrote and edited a bi-monthly column, The Style In You', generated story ideas, conducted research and interviews and tracked cultural influences and developments, among other activities. Before returning to Barbados in 2005, she was the television host of a one-hour weekly entertainment program, World Beats' on Channel M: Multivision Television (Cable 8). Her love for culture, community and history also saw her as emcee for Black History Month events in Vancouver in February 2004 & 2005. Holder holds a Journalism Associate Degree from Langara College Vancouver, BC. She also studied Broadcast Journalism at BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology).
