1. Dolly Parton: Best known for her work in country music, this little lady has been around the country music scene for years. I would consider her to be one of the leading ladies of country. She is so huge that she has her own theme park named Dollywood. In addition, she is also a philanthropist, actress, plays several instruments, singer and songwriter and an author. She is quite an accomplished woman. She has worked with countless musicians, actors and actresses over the years. For Dolly Parton she has been in this industry her entire life and her resume is super impressive.

2. Patty Loveless: Since coming on the country music scene in 1986, Patty Loveless wasted no time. She has produced a number of hits over the years such as: I Try To Think About Elvis, You Can Feel Bad, Blame It On Your Heart. These are just a few of her very popular song. Her tunes are catchy and easy to sing along to. Loveless has been compared to stars like Patsy Cline. She has had more than 40 songs to make their way to the charts since her career began and she doesn't show any signs of slowing down any time soon.

3. Tammy Wynette: Most known for her hit; "Stand By Your Man", this country star has made it to the title of Best Known Artist of her genre and Best Selling Women Singer. She was considered one of the best of all time. Unfortunately, she left this world too soon, she passed away in 1998 in Nashville. She had so many great hits to top the charts. One of the things that she was well known for, was her marriage to country star and singer George Jones.

4. Reba McIntyre: REBA. That is enough said. More than just a country singer, McIntyre even had a show by the same name. In this show, we got to see her comical side. Known for her fiery red hair and country swagger some of her best tracks are: You Lied, How Blue, Only In My Mind and Fallin' Out Of Love. Reba is also known for all of her duets.

5. Emmy lou Harris: This lady doesn't mess around. Harris has won 12 Grammy's and is a singer, songwriter and musician. With songs ranging in date from 1977-2006, Harris has been one of the leading ladies of country. Her love for country music is obvious with the number of years that span her career. She is underrated by some but, her talent and songwriting skills are undeniable.

6. Shania Twain: Always a huge fan of Shania. This Canadian born singer came south and we are glad she did! With her first album coming out in 1993 and the last one in 2005, she has so many hits and the songs from the beginning of her career to the end. The one that really sticks out to me is From This Moment. Used in weddings almost all the time when it first came out then, she did a remix with Bryan Adams.

7. Faith Hill: This beautiful lady is married to Tim McGraw but, has her own career in country music as well. Some of her greatest hits are: Breathe, This Kiss, It Matters To Me and There You'll Be. She has been nominated for 15 Grammys, winning 5. She has sang The National Anthem and she belted it out but also has the most graceful voice. I was able to see Faith Hill and Tim McGraw in concert together. That was a great concert. The love that they have for each other was very obvious during the concert.

8. Carrie Underwood: This beautiful diamond in the rough, was discovered living at home with her parents on a farm in Oklahoma. She tried out for American Idol and wowed the judges with her amazing, natural sounding voice. Underwood has absolutely blossomed on the country music scene. Seemingly very genuinely a great person, not to mention drop dead gorgeous, I think she has what it takes to be around for many, many years to come. Some of her songs include: Jesus Take The Wheel, The Wheel Of The World, Before He Cheats.

9. Patsy Cline: Singing in the 1960's, this might be a fact that you did not know and I learned this doing this hub. One thing is that Patsy Cline successfully switched over to pop music as well. She was born in Winchester, Virginia as Virginia Patterson Hensley. Her song Walkin' After Midnight. In the years following her death, millions of albums have sold. She is the first female solo artist to be inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999. Patsy Cline is one of the country greats who can never be mistaken after you hear her voice.

10. Loretta Lynn: Known as the Coal Miner's Daughter, she is a singer, songwriter and an author. She was born in Kentucky and she married at the young age of 15. August 31, 2012, she celebrated her 50th year as being a member of The Grand Ole Opry Hall Of Fame. She is still performing to this day. A great entertainer with fans across the globe.
