Cut Cable Costs and Try Free Cable TV Alternatives

Updated on May 12, 2016

Cable TV Has Alternatives

Are you as tired of the big business cable conglomerates as I am? Have you ever been made to feel completely insignificant to your cable provider by having your technical issues pushed off for a week then expected to be at home in some random and wide spaced set of hours only to find out that you'll have to do it again by having your appointment rescheduled to another day with another wide stretching set of hours your technician might show up within? Are you tired of being bled dry every month and completely unappreciated by big business mentalities that seem to discount your worth as a paying customer?

Thank technology for the modern age of choice that we as consumers have been handed with fast internet speeds and a plethora of choices to make that big business cable conglomerate just a bad memory from our pasts. The time has arrived when we as consumers can tell the cable man where they can shove their packaged 'deals' and we can take our business to where it is appreciated and where we are treated as a paying customer should be treated.

When choosing to tell our cable companies farewell, we no longer have to worry about losing anything that cable conglomerates offer. We can choose our own television lineups and do so commercial free and pick and choose exactly what we want to watch. There are so many options available online to view everything that big cable offers without the added costs of packaged deals that give us channels that we are paying for but really have no interest in. Packaged television deals are a huge waste of money.

Whether it is movies or series or network sitcoms, there are many options for the online consumer to get exactly what they want without the added expense of being forced to buy exactly what we do not want.

Are you ready to tell your cable company where they can shove their low-standards and rude customer service?

HDTV and Local Channels

The age of bad reception on our televisions is long over. The analog standard that once applied left us turning our antennas and hoping for the best picture we could manage. We spent our evenings watching mostly scraggly pictures and a lot of static and that seemed to be the best we could get and we never quite got the full picture or sound. Then entered the digital age.

In the modern digital world, a television station 150 miles away and over the hills and through the trees is no longer subject to the unreliable analog signal. Satellites pump out amplified signals that can be picked up anywhere on earth and are as reliable as living next to a television station in the 1980s. Modern reception is crystal clear and can be so at vast distances. The need for copper lines between us and a television station has all but disappeared in most parts of the world.

All that is needed between a television and a television station is the modern HDTV antenna. The modern HDTV antenna can pickup a signal from 150 miles away or even further depending on the quality and cost that one wants and is willing to invest. Make no mistake and have no doubts, the quality of picture that these antennas produce is often better than anything a long run of copper wire can achieve. This is information that cable and satellite companies are trying to suppress. They do not want people to know that their services have become irrelevant and are even adding charges to subscribers wishing to add local channels to their television lineups. Why would anyone want to pay for something they can easily get for free?

Getting rid of your cable or satellite provider is simple math and you will not be losing anything. Cut cable costs and check out the modern HDTV antenna. There are several great brands but the one I use is a Channel Master Brand and it works like a charm. It even picks up stations over 250 miles away from my home. You just can't beat that.

Tell your cable provider good riddance and get yourself a HDTV Antenna and read on to learn how to keep everything you feel you might lose by cutting out the television middle men.

Hulu and Netflix

If a HDTV antenna is not enough prime-time television viewing for you, then there are two alternatives that provide just about every show you could hope to have available to you only, you don't have a set time to be at home to watch it. With Hulu Plus and Netflix, you can have your favorite programs available to you night and day and you can schedule when you want to relax and catch up on any of your favorite shows.

There really is no catch. By signing up for either or both, and using Amazon's premiere channel services, you are still saving more than half of what you spend with a cable or satellite provider. Now can that be a bad thing?

There really is no downside to choosing to cut out your television packages and downsizing to a simple internet plan and then signing up for one of the many services that provide you with the series and films that you can watch and enjoy in your own free time. What could be better?

Cut Cable Costs with Free Amazon Trials

What's better than free tv access? Many men and women are getting tired of being forced to buy packages of channels that they aren't ever making use of. What's the answer to this problem? Cut cable by using your internet access to buy access to the television channels you actually want to watch and do watch.

As technology progresses, we are seeing it become more easy to break channels apart from greedy cable conglomerates and purchase access to channels that we have been watching for years while being forced to pay for channels that we just haven't the desire or time to watch.

Amazon is making great strides in this process and offering to provide the consumer with exactly what has been needed since television and cable conglomerates first entered the scene so many years ago. It is now possible to pick and choose exactly which premium channel you want and gain access to it online for less than the cost that your cable company will add it to your lineup. There really is no downside to choosing to cut cable out of your life and utilize Amazon's services to grab the channels and watch what you want when you want.

To beat it all, Amazon is offering some of these channels for free for an entire 30 days. How much better does it get than free?

Amazon's free Showtime trial doesn't require the consumer to have a preexisting cable service. The consumer simply signs up and can access the channel whenever they have time to catch up on popular Showtime movies and series like Dexter, Home Land and Californication.

There is no downside or trick to it. The consumer simply signs up and will receive 30 free days to review the channel's lineup and if for any reason is not satisfied, they can simply cancel the subscription and will not be billed for any of it. How much better does it get?

If you are interested in signing up for a free 30 day trial of Showtime and dropping your cable provider, then simply GET YOUR FREE SHOWTIME TRIAL HERE. Free Starz

There is no other channel on the spectrum of movie channels that gets as good of a reception as the Starz Movie Channels. With most cable companies, a consumer would be asked for $17 per month to add Starz to their existing lineup of useless and unwanted channels. By cutting out the middle man, Amazon can make Starz movies available to the end consumer at a much lower monthly fee. But as with Showtime, they offer a free trial period to their customers to ensure that the customer is fully satisfied with the product.

From epic series like Blacksails to the Outlander, anyone loving the latest movie releases and series that pull you in and just leave you wanting more will love Starz and Amazon is handing it to you free for 30 days and at a much lower cost per month than any cable television conglomerate anywhere in the world. You simple cannot go wrong by choosing to cut cable out of your life and choosing to take control of your television viewing packages.

All it takes is just a moment to sign up and GET YOUR FREE TRIAL OF STARZ HERE.

Cable Companies Don't Appreciate You

Cable and Satellite Providers Don't Appreciate You

No matter what you think about your cable or satellite company, the bottom line is that you don't have to be paying the prices you are paying to receive the same exact programming you are paying enormous prices to receive. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that cable and satellite providers are just middle men to the product that you and your family enjoy having at your disposal and middle-men pay themselves a lot of money to get it to you.

I can't even begin to tell you how freeing and good it feels to tell those middle-men farewell and how great it feels to put what I was giving them into my bank account while not missing out on any of my favorite programming or movies. Don't continue to allow yourself to get ripped off by conglomerate fat-cats. Take control of your home's entertainment and follow these instructions to save yourself a lot of frustration and even more money.

You don't have to be a genius to do the math. You can signup for every single one of these services I have outlined for you here and cut cable off completely and add it up yourself and compare it to last month's bill. You will see for yourself that you will be getting everything you had and be saving more than half of what you had been spending.

What could be better than getting it all for half the cost and starting it all off for free?

Getting rid of cable is becoming more and more popular. It's what both of my children and their families do. My husband is a little addicted to sports and I like news programs enough that we would find it hard to give up our cable. We do use Amazon Prime though which is great.

WRONG! You are spreading some false information.

An HDTV antenna cannot pick up signals from 150-miles away. The problem with ALL antennas is the fact that the curvature of the earth limits reliable TV signal reception to about 30-miles. This is a FACT!

In the old days, when I lived in a very rural area, I did two things to get some extra channels. 1- I put my external antenna on a tall mast to raise it. 2- I put an amplifier on the input line to receive more signal.

I am an Engineer, and your statement is FALSE, so please correct your article so the public will not be misinformed about external antennas.

You are always welcome for the kind words for they are the truth.

I have just shared this hub with all of my followers.

The antenna I am talking about is named ClearTV or something like that and the ad shows how to screw it into the back of any TV and start getting clear HD channels for FREE. All one has to pay is the initial twenty-bucks plus shipping.

If I see the ad again, I will jot down all I can and message it to you.

Hey, have a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving and a Safe and Merry Christmas, not Xmas.

      Your Friend, Kenneth

Thank you for your kind words Kenneth. I am unfamiliar at the moment with the device your speaking about, unless you're referring to a Roku which is internet driven. If you could give me a product name I could research it and add it to the article. They're doing a lot of snipping over here and I've been tending HP periodically anyways. I'm never done editing or adding more modern solutions to common problems.

Feel free to message me with any information.

      Thanks again.

Great hub. Very informative and helpful.

What about the antenna that screws to the back of our TV's and all we pay is the twenty-bucks via credit card and the TV ad says that we can receive as many as 200 HP channels.

      Is this one okay?

      Love your work.
