Dancing With The Stars – Season 9, Episode 7 – Week 3 Results Show

Updated on October 6, 2009

Week 3 Performance Show

The repeat performance for tonight was, surprisingly, Chuck & Anna.  I ended up being glad they chose them though because with the pressure off her actually did much better.  It was still not good, but it was less bad.

Musical Performance

Next up was a performance by Queen Latifah.  I am SO glad that this was a “Disney signer free night!”  Her first song was “Fast Car” with Maks & Cheryl Dancing.  I really like the two of them dancing together.  Very feisty and hot.

Results for the 3 Men with the Lowest Scores

Tom & Cheryl – Safe

Michael & Anna – In Jeopardy

Chuck & Anna – Safe

First Bit of Randomness

They did a montage of the stars’ opinions of the experience so far and their opinions of each other.  I really wish they would skip these and instead do a pro dance or something.

Announcement

Tom DeLay will not be able to continue due to his injury.  He seemed truly disappointed.  He was particularly glum about missing out on what they were due to dance next week—the Texas 2-Step.  Tom told him they would love for him to come back and dance it in the finale if he has recovered enough to do so.

Results for the 3 Women with the Highest Scores

Mya & Dmitry – Safe

Natalie & Alec – Safe

Joanna & Derek – In Jeopardy

Results for the 4 Remaining Men

Donny & Kym – Safe

Louie & Chelsie – Safe

Aaron & Karina – In Jeopardy

Mark & Lacey – Safe

Design-a-Dance

The past star selected to dance was Sabrina Bryan.

Next up for voting:  The pro dancer who will dance with Sabrina.  The options are the 8 male pros from this season: Alec, Derek, Dmitry, Jonathan, Louis, Maksim, Mark or Tony.

Macy’s Stars of Dance

Tonight’s performance was by the JabbaWockeeZ.  They are the winners of the first season of “America’s Best Dance Crew.”  I tend to really struggle with the masks they way and that makes it really hard for me to appreciate their performances.  I really liked this one though.  It started out as a tribute to the famous dance scene from “Singing in the Rain,” and then broke out into Hip-Hop.  Lacey Schwimmer and Mark Ballas joined them towards the end, both in masks, and revealed themselves at the end.

Musical Performance

Queen Latifah performed again, this time signing “Ease on Down the Road.”  I really liked her rendition of it.  She was accompanied by five dancers who were really great, especially the first 2 guys that joined her.

Elimination

Tom DeLay & Cheryl Burke were announced as safe.

Ashley Hamilton & Edyta Sliwinska were eliminated.

Michael Irvin & Anna Demidova are therefore safe.

First 2 Safe Women Announced

Natalie Coughlin & Alec Mazo

Mya & Dmitry Chaplin

Following that there was some sort of segment with Adam Carolla giving the men a pep talk, it started off silly and I missed the rest thanks to TiVo!

Macy’s Stars of Dance

Tonight it was 41 performers from the cast of “The Lion King.”  They performed “The Circle of Life.”  It was so awesome, it gave me the same chills I got when I saw it live in the theatre.  I just wish they had turned up the singer’s mic at the beginning because the applause and cheering drowned her out.

Second Bit of Randomness

I just really hate these!  This one was Steve “The Woz” Wozniak, some guy named Matthew Berry (ESPN Sr. Fantasy Analyst), and a toddler doing their predictions—The Woz using math, Berry using stats, and the toddler, well…  I didn’t note the first 2 predictions, but the kid picked Melissa Joan Hart.

Results for the 3 Remaining Women

Debi & Maks – In Jeopardy

Kelly & Louis – Safe

Melissa & Mark – Safe

Elimination

Joanna & Derek – Safe

Aaron & Karina – Safe

Michael & Anna – Bottom 2

Debi & Maks – Bottom 2

The couple eliminated was: Debi & Maks

I am presuming that with a contestant withdrawing there is only one double elimination remaining this season, instead of 2.
