Dancing With The Stars – Season 9, Episode 9 – Week 4 Results Show

Updated on October 13, 2009

Week 4 Performance Show

The repeat performance for tonight was, Melissa & Mark.  This was one of my favorite performances from last night, Mark did an amazing job with the choreography.  It was great again, so high energy and fun.  I hope they can stick with this momentum!

Musical Performance

I love, Love, LOVE Shakira, so I was so happy to see her perform.  Her first song was “Did It Again.”  She had a really cool drum corps performing with her.  And she looked hot, as always.  I would pay good money to have a torso like hers!!

First Round of Results

Mya & Dmitry – Safe

Melissa & Mark – Safe

Aaron & Karina – In Bottom 2

First Bit of Randomness

Jake Pavelka was announced as the next Bachelor, they are calling it “The Bachelor, On the Wings of Love.”  Apparently he was one of the guys from the most recent season of The Bachelorette…I don’t watch it.

Pro Dance

Tonight’s Pro Dance was Paso Doble and Argentine Tango which are the 2 dances for next week.  YAY!  2 of my favorites!!  Louis Van Amstel choreographed the Paso Doble portion and the Argentine Tango was choreographed by an Argentine couple (I suspect it was Miriam Larici & Leonardo Barrionuevo who have choreographed for “So You Think You Can Dance” and competed for Argentina on “Superstars of Dance”, but they didn’t announce it and I only know the details I do because I follow Louis Van Amstel on Twitter – @LouisVanAmstel).  Performing were Louis Van Amstel, Dmitry Chaplin, Alec Mazo, Karina Smirnoff, Cheryl Burke and Edyta Sliwinska.  Both sections were nice and dramatic, just the way I like these dances.  Great performance!

Announcement

Next week in addition to the Paso Doble and Argentine Tango the dancers will also be performing a group Hustle.  I can’t wait!

Second Round of Results

Kelly & Louis – Safe

Natalie & Alec – Safe

Joanna & Derek – Safe

Third Round of Results

Mark & Lacey – Safe

Michael & Anna – Safe

Second Bit of Randomness

They showed some footage of the stars interacting with their kids when they visit the rehearsals.  As always, kids say the darndest things, particularly Michael’s son.

Musical Performance

Her second song was “Hips Don’t Lie,” yay!  Apart from her music back when she still sang only in Spanish this is my favorite.  She was joined by some great dancers; I have always loved how she incorporates both branches of her heritage into her performances.

Third Bit of Randomness

This was a montage of the stars talking about how hard and grueling it is to be on the show incorporated with bits of rehearsals.

Fourth Round of Results

Donny & Kym – Safe

Final Round of Results

Louie & Chelsie – Safe

Chuck & Anna – In Bottom 2

Eliminated

Chuck & Anna

Design-a-Dance

So far we have past star Sabrina Bryan doing the Paso Doble.  Still up for voting is the pro dancer who will accompany her.  The options are the 8 male pros from this season: Alec, Derek, Dmitry, Jonathan, Louis, Maksim, Mark or Tony.

Macy’s Stars of Dance

There was not a performance tonight, not sure why…
