The 18th Season Winners
Meryl Elizabeth Davis is an American Olympic Champion figure skater. She now has a new trophy to put on her award shelf. Born on New Year's Day in 1987, Meryl won a mirror ball trophy to sit next to her gold medal she won in Sochi at the 2014 Winter Olympics with ice skating dance partner Charlie White.
Maksim "Maks" Aleksandrovich Chmerkovskiy is a Ukrainian Latin Ballroom dance champion, choreographer, and instructor. This is his first mirror ball trophy.
Born on January 17, 1980, Maks began dancing at the age of four with his brother Valentin. Both became champion dancers and own dance studios in New York city and surrounding areas.
Meryl and Maks were not at the party. They had to fly to New York City to appear on the morning shows, including The View.
Dancing With The Stars
A dancing competition show that pairs professional dancers with celebrities aired in ABC in 2005. The amiable Emmy-winning host Tom Bergeron of America's Funniest Videos was hired to host the show. It was a huge success.
Past celebrity contestants include actors, boxers, football players, Olympic athletes, astronauts, musicians and teen-heartthrobs.
The main judges are singer and dancer Carrie Ann Inaba, professional ballroom dancer and judge Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, an Italian born, British choreographer and dancer.
During the 18th Season cast included EMMA SLATER, BILLY DEE WILLIAMS, DANICA MCKELLAR, VALENTIN CHMERKOVSKIY, SEAN AVERY, CANDACE CAMERON BURE, MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY, MERYL DAVIS, NENE LEAKES, TONY DOVOLANI, SHARNA BURGESS, CHARLIE WHITE, CHERYL BURKE, DREW CAREY, DIANA NYAD, HENRY BYALIKOV, ERIN ANDREWS; KARINA SMIRNOFF, DEREK HOUGH, MARK BALLAS, PETA MURGATROYD, JAMES MASLOW, WITNEY CARSON, CODY SIMPSON and host TOM BERGERON.
On May 20, we learned that Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were crowned the Season 18 champions.
Even though she didn't win the mirrored ball trophy, she won in a toned physique. Danica looked beautiful in her black form-fitting dress with a peek-a-boo mid-drift cut out. The dress fit her beautifully.

The Chef Who Created A Magical DWTS Wrap Party
You may remember the amiable Scott Fischer from Master Chef Season One in 2010 with Gordon Ramsay. He was a Corporate Salesman for Expedia and had a big personality while preparing a roasted coconut shrimp dish. He cut his hand and didn't win.
After his television debut, Fischer opened a restaurant in Boca Raton, Florida, cooked with Paula Dean and Michael Simon. Since he uses Blendtec professional blenders, they contacted him to work together. Blendtec is a sponsor of DWTS.
Fischer was recommended by Blendtec to be in charge at the Dancing With the Stars Wrap Party. He eagerly put together a unique culinary dream team that included Whitney Miller the winner of Master Chef Season One and teammate Avis White. White made a Louisana pan-fried chicken, Andouille and sausage Gumbo, corn bread soup over rice.
Also, Mario Cassineri from Bice and Cris Patolot made the amazing Dancing With The Stars cake.
Chefs Bernard Guillas and Ron Oliver of the renowned Marine Room restaurant at The La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club in La Jolla, California helped out too. They had their Flying Pans: Two Chefs, One World on hand for guests to look at or purchase.
Chef Bernard Guillas made a delectable vegan dish with Danica McKellar in mind, because she is a vegan, so he prepared a King oyster mushroom soup.
"Danica McKellar is related to one of the owners of Marine Room. The chefs were going to prepare short-ribs for tonight, however when Danica broke a rib, they changed the menu to beef cheeks, in honor of her sweet cheeks," said Fischer with a smile.
"It takes a village to put one of these celebrity events together," said Fischer. "I had four weeks to put this entire night together from forming the menu to putting the hundreds of DWTS cupcakes together to represent the show's stage. There are cupcakes on bleachers, a cupcake dance floor and even a mirrored ball."
Fisher also asked three of the top Disney chefs to help out. They created an upscale BLT with an heirloom tomato soup. The grilled cheese sandwich was on a brioche with avocado.
Chef Scott Fischer deserved a mirrored ball trophy for calmly creating such a festive culinary adventure for the DWTS cast members and their friends and family.
Before leaving the event, I took a photo of him with comedian and television personality Drew Carey. He was smiling from ear to ear.

Contestant Billy Dee Williams
Billy Dee Williams was the senior contestant on the DWTS 18th season. At 77 years old he had to stop dancing after his back caused him a lot of pain due to the rigors of rehearing for the show.
As the first female professional dancer to win the Dancing With The Stars show with singer Drew Lachey in the second season, she also was the first professional dancer to win twice and consecutively. She and retired football player Emmitt Smith won the third season.
Cheryl was paired with Drew Carey in the 18th season.
