Cheryl has been writing breaking news, spoiler alerts and recaps for daytime drama for several years and is a soap fan for five decades.

The rumor mill is abuzz about Steffy's new man

Fans of The Young and the Restless have been wondering what Daniel Goddard will do now that his character Cane Ashby has been written out of the CBS daytime drama. Viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful are curious who Steffy Forrester will date now that she has decided to put Liam in her past. Celebrating the Soaps is now suggesting that devotees of both programs may get their answer at the same time. Nothing has been confirmed but the rumor mill is suggesting that Goddard has been traded to B&B and will become the new love interest of Ridge Forrester's daughter.

If true, the next question will be whether or not Cane Ashby will crossover from The Young and the Restless to The Bold and the Beautiful or if Daniel Goddard will portray a totally new character. Deacon Sharpe, Amber Moore, and Lauren Fenmore are a few of the characters from Y&R who crossed over to the sister soap opera in the past. It will be interesting to see if this rumor turns out to be true. On Wednesday Steffy told Liam that she was ready to move on and now viewers will be eager to see who her new beau turns out to be.

Cane's days in Genoa City are coming to a close

The Young and the Restless has been silent regarding how Cane Ashby will exit Genoa City. Jill suspects her ex-husband is behind the fake will page and trying to find him to obtain some answers. Spoiler alerts indicate that Chance Chancellor will return on Friday, Cane will soon be trying to clear his name and the truth about Amanda is going to be revealed. If Colin is behind the attempt to take away Devon’s fortune most people in Genoa City will be ready to believe his son was in on it with him.The groundwork for this line of thinking is already being laid.

On Thursday’s episode of The Young and the Restless, Billy’s dark side emerged and he told Kyle he thought Theo was up to something the same way Cane tricked everyone into believing he was Phillip Chancellor. Every time Kyle tried to discuss Theo, Billy emphasized that Cane was a con artist who he believes is pulling a fast one on Devon. No information has been leaked regarding how or when this storyline will conclude and Daniel Goddard has given no updates on his situation since he told his fans he had been fired.

Goddard asked his loyal followers on Twitter to watch the last scenes with Cane and Lily, which aired last Friday, November 1. Since then the actor's tweets have indicated that he is hurt but moving on. His last one to date shows the actor on The Price is Right. If he has been hired by The Bold and the Beautiful to portray a new love interest for Steffy, he is keeping it under wraps.

Steffy may never get over Liam

A stumbling block to Steffy moving on with any man is the obsession that The Bold and the Beautiful writers have with continuing the love triangle between Steffy, Liam, and Hope. Soap Dirt indicates that Liam is not going to be on board with Hope's plan to raise Douglas. This will no doubt cause problems between them. Even if Steffy does begin dating again, at some point she will probably reunite with him sometime down the road. Should Daniel Goddard or another actor be brought on as Steffy's love interest, it will probably only be a matter of time before "Steam" is back in action.

On Wednesday's episode of The Bold and the Beautiful Steffy's hair and makeup had her looking pretty glamorous as she told Liam she was ready to date again. It was not that long ago when Thomas drugged the father of his niece and "Steam" ended up in bed. It looked like they were going to get back together until the baby switch was revealed. People do not turn their feelings on and off that quickly in real-time as they do on a daytime drama. Fans of these CBS soaps can only wait it out to see what happens next.
