Did You Know Goosebumps Is On Netflix?
As soon as I clicked on my Netflix profile, I got a surprise, I saw Goosebumps on my Netflix home page and I clicked on it to discover that it was the television series.
Goosebumps was a popular Canadian/America horror anthology television series based on R. L. Stine’s book series of the same name. It was a show about children finding themselves in creepy and unusual situation, typical involving supernatural element. The series ran for four seasons from 1995 to 1998. The Goosebumps movies 1 and 2, starring Jack Black, are also on Netflix.
I grew up watching Goosebump. It was my favorite show as a kid. I also read the Goosebumps, Ghost Of Fear Street and the Fear Street series. All three series was written by R. L. Stine. I found the books in the library in every school I attended during my youth.
When I was nine-years-old, I wrote my first short story. All I remember about that story was it was about three siblings who run away from home and end up in a haunted cabin in the woods. When I showed the story to my family, I was told that I was writing like Stephen King. At the age of nine, I have never even heard of Stephen King but that inspired me to find about him only to conclude I don’t think I write like him at all.
However, at the age of nine, I was reading Goosebumps religiously, devouring every copy I could get my hands on. The were the very first R. L. Stine books that I got into. Ghost Of Fear Streef and Fear Street came later on.
Anyway, if any writer inspired my writing at the age of nine it was R. L. Stine not Stephen King since I was only reading him. One of the first pseudonyms that I wanted to write under was K. M. Pitts. I came up with it by my first initial, middle initial and last name and yes I was being like R. L. Stine. I wanted to move to New York City and be a writer because I knew that’s what Stine did.
