Quote from "Frozen" Movie Review

The older one, Elsa, has snow and ice powers that she hides away to avoid hurting anyone, but it hurts her emotionally to do this. The other sister, Anna, is hurt after her sister stops playing with her to hide her powers. Something bad happens during the Elsa's coronation and she freezes over the entire kingdom and runs away. Anna realizes then why her sister didn't play with her when they were younger and goes after her sister to hopefully have her unfreeze the kingdom and to tell her to come home. Along the way to finding her she runs into a talking snowman, a man and his reindeer, a civilization of trolls, and a trader and his family. I won't give away the ending, I will only say it is very moving and powerful.

"Frozen" Movie Review

Women powered is what comes to mind after watching Disney's "Frozen". The majority of the main heroics are achieved by the women of this movie versus the men. The male characters do of course play a big part in the movie as well, but the main characters are essentially two princesses who are sisters. This movie is mostly a musical and adventure kids movie based very loosely on "The Snow Queen" fairy tale. I don't really see too many similarities to that old fairy tale but they state that's where they got the idea in the extras on the DVD/Bluray. The songs are well put together and executed in a Broadway style. Kind of like how "Beauty and the Beast" was done.

The animation is amazingly done and the characters are all unique. It's set in 3 dimensional style animation like Disney's "Tangled" movie was done. If you look closely you can even see two characters from "Tangled" in one scene. The style is very clear and stays constant throughout the movie. Nothing seemed out of place. The snowman is very uniquely done compared to other snowman's designs in other movies.

This is a good movie to watch with your children. One of the characters does try to kill another one at one point, but there is no graphic violence, only stated violence. This is a great movie if you have a little girl to show her how to be more empowered and embrace her strengths despite people that may put her down. Boys will enjoy this movie as well I'm sure, as there's interesting male characters and a funny reindeer and goofy snowman. Right now my daughter is too young to really understand what was going on with the movie while I watched it with her, yet she still liked the sounds of the songs and the voice of the talking snowman. I'd say older kids will understand the story line more than younger ones. Younger kids will like and understand quite a bit of the humor though, especially the reindeer and the snowman's funny bits.

Other similar movies to Disney's "Frozen" are: "Tangled" and "Beauty and the Beast". If you liked those you likely will like "Frozen" too!

I think you're review sort of reflects my own personal thoughts on the film, but you might need to go into more detail though about why you felt the way you did about it. For example, maybe bringing up the cinematography, or how this film doesn't fall into some of the classic disney tropes and etc. Something along those lines.

Overall though, I thought you wrote a great hub. Although I doubt i'll be trying your make up tutorials because....well im a guy. lol. However, I'm sure there's someone out there that'll find it useful. Personally, I think Elsa is definitely my favorite Disney character of all time; even though I would probably rank frozen as being my third favorite disney film overall. Anyway, keep up the good work as always.
