Dragon Ball is originally a manga series from Japan, written as well as illustrated by Akira Toriyama. In 2009, the film Dragonball Evolution was released under the direction of James Wong. From the original animated version, the story of Goku, his friends, and other superhuman beings are put into film starring real people.

The first movie has become successful enough to leave fans hopeful for a sequel. The rumors about Dragonball 2 Reborn has been making the rounds lately on the web and although no one, not even 20th Century Fox, has confirmed that one is currently being drafted, it is said that it would be possible.

The story would, of course, pick up on where it left off in the first film. The last scene showed Piccolo alive and being treated. This may mean that Goku might once again have to protect the world from being destroyed while gathering the dragon balls. However, there is a rumor that piccolo may indeed make a comeback, but this time, it would be to join forces with Goku to fight the super evil Raditz, who plans to kill Goku once and for all.

As for the characters, the main cast from the first movie called Dragonball Evolution would still be present. The main protagonist, of course, is Goku, or Son Goku in Japanese manga. This character is known to have superhuman powers and has trained well enough to be the best in the world, and other worlds as well.

In the second movie, he would have to defeat his brother Raditz, who is out to kill him. Goku will once again be played by Justin Chatwin, the popular actor from British Columbia.

Bulma, on the side of Goku, is the inventor of the Dragon Radar, a device meant to detect the signals being emitted by each of the dragonballs. She will be inventing even more exciting devices that can aid them in their search for the dragonballs and in defeating the powerful enemies. Bulma will once again be played by Emmy Rossum.

Chi-chi, Goku's love interest, will be present in the Dragonball sequel as well. Jamie Chung would still play the character of Chi-Chi in Dragonball 2 Reborn.

Piccolo, the main antagonist defeated by Goku in Dragonball Evolution, is alive, after all. This time, in Dragonball 2 Reborn, Piccolo would join Goku's side to help defeat even more powerful enemies who are out to put the world into total destruction. If the original plot of the Japanese version would be followed, Piccolo would be the trainer of Gohan, Goku's first child with Chi-Chi.

Dragonball Evolution has made the exciting adventure of Goku more realistic as it casts real people to play the roles. Fans have been waiting for a sequel, Dragonball 2 Reborn, to finally reveal to them what happens now that Piccolo is found to be alive and that the dragonballs are once again scattered in the universe. There is no announcement yet on when the sequel would start shooting, but it certainly has fans thrilled and undeniably excited.

Pity American studios can't turn Live Action anime into decent works. Until they're either willing to set-up a good solid story/cast/director/producer-- they should just do CGI like Square did with Advent Children.

First off I love how people STILL think DB:E was supposed to be based on the later time line of DBZ, it is just DB where he's a young kid, sure they raised him up to high school but when you think about it it's only about a 3-4 year age jump. If I remember correctly he was 14 in the manga. Also please put out a sequel as the worst thing that film companies are doing now, and anime companies as well, is that they are making a Season 1 or Film 1 and then leaving it cliffhanging and just claiming a lack of financial response. Ok so a movie that cost 1 mil to make only gets 3 mil in the first weekend, but that's not enough for you greedy bastards in Hollywood to say you'll make a sequel, then you hold onto the license rights just so no one else can for the next 10 years.

I can't understand what you guys are on about?? i'm a die-hard fan of the Dragonball series and I don't care that this movie's story-line doesn't follow the original series', I loved it! it kept me guessing which character is which, which is half the fun. only real die-hard fans will like these movies. and I can't wait for the sequel.

They destroyed the first movie. By totally getting the story line wrong. And the stupid crap they pulled by leaving the evil piccolo alive at the end. Instead of his reincarnation to come alive will destroy the next movie as well. They missed so many details and got so much wrong, That truly. I'm just wishing for a reboot.

First of all goku is a kid. When he starts training. And he fights other small time criminals. You don't just jump in to mid season dragon ball and just throw a bunch of stuff together. And call it a movie. I've seen every single episode of the action packed cartoon. And dragonball didn't even come close to the story line. That's why it was more like a failure

Oh god no! Why? WHY GOD!? We do not want this. How could anyone think we the fans of dragonball would ever want them to make a sequal to that horrible first movie. Seriously that movie was just the worst possible job anyone could have ever done. They ignored the source material and changed so much they should have just renamed all the characters and the movie something else and just sold it and no one would have known they stole from DB. This movie was a slap in the face to the fans. Seriously this movie is a joke and is treated as such. But to think they are actually making a sequal to piece of s*** hurts my brain. I hope this never happens the world will be a better place.

Dbz reborn should go up. I'm a major dbz fan and i approve that this should be reborn anew. Goku is my favorite character in all dbz based anime. So why not give dbz another time until it ends the time of goku being a super saiyan for once? He's gonna go for it sometime. Just give dbz one more shot at it until dbz ends the story line. Goku, Bulma, and all the other z fighters rock!!
