Susan Boyle's First Album
Singing In the Local Venues
I find her to be fascinating. Susan's rise to fame has been watched by millions with the help of YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. She is a rather plain individual with a powerful voice that has caused the world to take notice of her.
Born in Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland, her parents were imigrants from Ireland. She was the youngest of four brothers and six sisters. Her mother was 47 years old when she gave birth to Susan. During the birth, there was a period of time without oxygen which supposedly caused some learning disabilities.
Susan took singings lessons, attended Edinburgh's acting school, sang in a local Catholic Church, sang in choirs, and sang Karaoke in various pubs around her village. Along the way, she won several singing competitions and it was her Mom who urged her to try out for Britain's Got Talent. Her performance on the show was her first public performance since the death of her mother at the age of 91, in 2007. Susan still lives in the family home and has never married. Her father passed away in the 1990's.
In the competition on Britain's Got Talent, Susan's first performance was "I Dreamed A Dream". Over 10,000,000 viewers watcher her debut. Can you ever Simon Cowell's face as she presented her song? She also appeared on the first semi-final on May 24, 2009 performing "Memory". Despite her attempts to win the competition, DIVERSITY won first place,

The Dream Comes To Pass
Susan's first album was released on November 23, 2009. It sold 701,000 copies in the first week. This album topped the Billboard Chart for six weeks straight. It was one of two albums to sell over 3,000,000 copies in the United States, only 86,000 were from digital downloads. To date, she has sold 8.5 million copies of the album. Her second album will be released by Christmas. The second album may be even bigger.
A Simple Woman Who Sings Like A Star
On April 1, 2010, Susan will turn 49. She will soon purchase a new home. Let's just say her luck has changed. Susan Magdalene Boyle, a Scottish singer drew international public attention when she competed on Britain's Got Talent. Her hit song was "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables. Boyle's frumpy style and demeanor were not her keys to success, but did send a message to the world that extraordinary things can be done by ordinary people. She is working on that image to be the best she can be. Her story is heart warming and encouraging to the world!
