Elin Nordegren Photos

Updated on March 20, 2011

A Very Attractive Woman

December 26, 2006

Elin Nordegren skyrocketed to fame after meeting and becoming engaged to golf superstar, Tiger Woods. Elin Maria Pernilla Nordegren was born in Stockholm, Sweden on January 1, 1980 to Thomas and Barbro Holmberg Nordegren.

Her father, Thomas Nordegren is a radio journalist who once served as bureau chief for the Swedish Broadcasting media in Washington, D.C.

Her mother, Barbro Holmberg served in the Swedish Parliament as a member of the Social Democratic Party. From 2003 to the fall of the Social Democratic government in 2006, she served as minister of migration and asylum. Barbro Holmberg has been married twice and her marriage to Thomas Nordegren produced Elin, her twin sister Josefin and brother Axel.

Was a Bikini Model and Nanny Before She met Tiger

Elin and her twin sister Josefin worked as bikini models and as nannies for Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik. Parnevik introduced the two girls to Tiger Woods when both were playing at the British Open in 2001.

Tiger and Elin hit it off and began dating. News of their dating relationship became public in 2002 and this resulted in Elin quickly advancing from a little known, but successful, model to a modeling superstar overnight.

It also brought problems as some tabloids attempted to pass off nude photos of look-alike models as Elin. Tiger immediately jumped to her defense and threatened a lawsuit.

Tiger proposed to Elin in December 2003 in South Africa after playing in the President's Cup tournament in that country. Tiger and Elin were married on October 5, 2004 by the 19th hole of the Sandy Lane Golf Resort in Barbados.

Tiger kept the wedding a private affair for family and close friends (many of them celebrates) by reserving all of the helicopters owned by the island's only helicopter charger service and reserving all of the rooms at the hotel. The price tag for the ceremony alone was reportedly $1.5 million and was probably worth it as the couple did succeed in keeping their wedding private.

There is no question that Elin is a very attractive woman which with her celebrity status alone as Tiger Wood's wife would ensure that she would be frequently photographed. Add to this the fact that she is also a former bikini model and you find her pictures all over the web. A Google Image search of her name alone yielded 303 hits in less than a second.

Nude Photo Incident and Subsequent Lawsuit

(NOTE: This text module was added to the original 2006 article, on December 20, 2008)

Just before the 2006 Ryder Cup Golf Tournament an Irish magazine, the Dubliner, published what they claimed were nude photos of her from her modeling days.

The Ryder Cup is a biannual event between American and European golf teams and Elin's husband, Tiger Woods, was playing on the American team.

While many aspiring models attempt jump start their careers by modeling in the nude, Elin Nordegren had never been known to do this.

However, enough other models and movie celebrities had done such modeling in their distant pasts that it was easy to believe that the photos were real.

The fact that she was the beautiful wife of the world's top golf star made the photos an instant hit on the online and offline tabloid circuit as the photos were quickly given wide exposure on the Internet.

Both Elin and her husband, Tiger, denied that the photos were of her and Elin went a step further by filing a lawsuit against the magazine in an Irish court.

The photos were proved to be fake, as close inspection showed that the magazine had taken nude photos of sometime Playboy model Kim Hiott, superimposed Ms Nordegren's head in place of that of Ms Hiott and published them as photos of Ms Nordegren posing nude.

In December of 2007 the magazine admitted that the photos were fake and agreed to a large financial settlement which Ms Nordegren donated to charity.

Even though the photos have been proven to be fake, and the magazine which originally published them both admitted this in court and agreed to compensate Ms Nordegren financially for attempting to damage her reputation, they apparently still lurk in the dark recesses of the Internet as evidenced by the periodic surge of spam emails claiming to contain the photos.

For those seeking more information on this attack on Ms Nordegren's reputation below are links to two sites dealing with the lawsuit and the story of the faked photos. Additional articles can be found by doing a Google Search using the words "Elin Nordegren lawsuit", "Elin Nordegren 2006 Ryder Cup photos" or similar word combinations.

Elin is normal looking. Not ugly, but not pretty either. Just plain faced. The only reason people say she is beautiful is because Tiger married her and she is white (as opposed to Tiger's dark colour -- not black though). But no one would admit that. If people didn't keep telling her she is beautiful when she is not, she would have extensive surgeries like Heidi Montag, who was also plain looking.

BlogDesign - I don't have anything new on the scandal. But you are right, a Hub on that would probably generate a lot of traffic. I'll have to see what I can find.

jackie, BueatyAnalyst - thanks for your comments.

While everyone's tastes and definition of beauty are different, as a man, I agree with BueatyAnalyst. Nordegren is a very beautiful woman physically and, from everything I have ever heard about her, is a well grounded and decent woman as well, which makes her even more attractive.

eplee - thanks for visiting and for pointing out an error in my text.

The marriage date was 2004, not 2003 as I originally typed it. I have now corrected the text.

Thanks again for pointing out the error.

How could Tiger propose in December of 2003 yet be married in October of 2003? Good trick.

perrya - Thanks for visiting my Hub and for your comment.

This was actually written as an entry in the HubPages Fall 2006 contest in which was provided a list of requested topics that HubPage visitors had asked for. For the contest we were required to select a topic from that list (it was called the "Idea Bank" and it was extensive) and write whatever we wanted about it. Each day, for the duration of the contest (it ran for about a month), the HubPage staff would randomly draw one of the articles submitted and award a cash prize. We could enter as often as we wanted each day with the only restrictions being that the article had to have been selected from the Idea Bank and each entry was good only for that day. HubPages was relatively new and with only a fraction of the authors that it now has. I took advantage of the contest tried to submit one or more articles each day during the contest period. Due to the small number of entries, I was a frequent winner in the contest.

However, as I stated in my Hub entitled "How to Continue Winning With the HubPages Writing Contest Idea Bank" ( ) I took a longer term view of the contest. I won about $200 - $300 in contest winnings and probably could have won more by simply hammering out more articles each day without regard to quality. Since the prizes were awarded on the basis of a random drawing from the articles entered each day, quantity, not quality was the name of the game. Since HubPages had made its debut as a company on Aug 5, 2006 ( ) and the contest was run in November and December of that year they were obviously seeking to quickly increase content in order to generate more ad revenue. I had joined and begun writing for HubPages in late September 2006 and by November the number of writers was still small but growing and the number of those entering the contest even smaller. Being concerned with both my professional reputation and the longevity of my articles, I tried to produce quality articles that would contine to generate GoogleAdsense income into the future regardless of whether or not they became a winning entry in the contest (see Paul Edmonson's Hub "Evergreen Content" in which he explains how to produce content with long term appeal).

Frankly this article and many of the others that I wrote for the 2006 contest as well as those written for other contests (such as the February 2008 contest) and in response to requests on the "Requests" tab of HubPages usually hold little interest to me as a writer. However, while I enjoy writing and the opportunity to express my creativity, my main goal in writing and publishing is to make money and that requires that I put the interests of the reading public ahead of my own creative interests. The great thing about HubPages is that I can do both and write about things that I happen to be passionate about as well as write things that the public wants that will generate ad revenue. I have found that my Hubs which are written in response to requests (and all of the contests have sought articles on topics people are requesting) generally generate more traffic and more ad revenue than most of those written on topics I choose (although many of those do well).

In addition to traffic and revenue generation, I have found that responding to requests like this one help me to become a better writer by challenging me to apply my skills to new areas thereby broadening me as a writer. It has also proved interesting in that I am forced to study and learn new things in the process of undertaking the writing challenge.

One final note on this particular article which, due to the pure luck of being in the right place at the right time, has become the highest income generating article I have written to date. Like many of my other request articles, it generates a steady income each month usually adding a dollar or so to my monthly revenue but every so often (whenever Tiger Woods or Elin Nordegren are in the news) it generates a bit more. Twice I have literally hit the jackpot with this article. The first time was December 2007 and the second December 2008.

Even though I knew about the rumored nude photos when I originally wrote and published this Hub on Dec 26, 2006 I made no reference to them or their supposed existence in the original Hub.

While reviewing my traffic statistics (which I do regularly using both data provided on the HubPages site as well as GoogleAdsense and Analytics reports) in December 2007 I noticed heavy traffic on this article and a quick Google Search revealed that she was in the news for winning her lawsuit against the newspaper for publishing the fake nude photos. As a result of people searching for information about her following that news I made about $20 dollars in Adsense revenue from this Hub during Dec 2007.

Things dropped back to normal after a few days and remained there until December 20, 2008 when I noticed that the ad revenue for the day for this article alone was not only well above my daily average for all articles but was rapidly increasing by the minute. A Google search showed nothing in the news and a review of my statistics showed normal traffic from Google. However, these same traffic statistics (from HubPages) showed traffice from Yahoo that was practically off the charts. Putting my article title in Yahoo Search I found that it was number 4 on the first page of results (I did the same on Google and stopped looking after I couldn't find it in the first ten pages of results). Since the Yahoo search results contained a number of links to articles about her with the words "nude photos" I assumed that someone or some groups had sent out a massive spam email on Yahoo containing a link to the supposed nude photos and when the link came back as broken or unknown people began searching (this is only a theory as when I checked my own Yahoo email accounts there were no such eamails among the large quantity of spam in them). The end result was that, out of the $109 or so that my Hubs generated in Adsense revenue that day $101.17 came from this Hub alone. The surge only lasted that one day. Despite the large volume of traffic on this article that December day, I doubt that most people bothered to read the Hub and, instead, upon seeing that the sought after photos were not there, simply clicked on one the ads in hopes that it would lead them to the sought after photos.

And this is the story behind my Hub entitled "Elin Nordegren Photos"

and why is this of remote interest to write about? nude photos of Tiger woods wife long before he her? it happens all the time with celebrities before they were famous. who cares?

Wayne, the photos you see above are the ones that were originally published with this article. There were never any nude photos with this HubPage. Further, as I indicated in the update module that I just added, the supposed nude photos were fakes and the magazine that apparently originated them was forced to admit this in court and pay a large settlement to Ms. Nordegren for slandering her.
