Endless Love with Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes
The TV series called Endless Love is a Philippine drama adaptation of the popular Korean drama Autumn in My Heart. It started showing on June 28, 2010. The lead stars are reel and real sweathearts Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera. It is directed by Mac Alejandre who directed them also in Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang in the previous year.
The Korean drama Autumn in My Heart is the first series in Yoon Suk Ho's four-part Endless Love which played a big part across Asia. It aired in South Korea through KBS2 channel from September to November 2000 with 16 episodes. This made the lead stars Song Hye Kyo and Won Bin to fame. In 2003, the GMA Network got the Philippine airing rights. Due to its success among Philippine fans, GMA aired it two more times in 2004 and once again in 2006.
In 2009, GMA Network has acquired the adaptation rights of Autumn in My Heart, with Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera as the lead stars. Originally, director Joyce E. Bernal was hired for the project but then later replaced by Mac Alejandre. Joyce previously directed Dingdong and Marian in TV series MariMar, Dyesebel, and Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang (The Woman Pulled from My Rib).
The filming of Endless Love started in April 2010. The main cast and characters are: Dingdong Dantes plays the role of Johnny Garcia while Marian Rivera is Jenny Cruz. The secondary lead roles went to Dennis Trillo as Andrew Tantoco, Nadine Samonte as Shirley Garcia, and Bela Padilla as Yumi Ramirez. Other cast members are: Kristofer Dangculos as Young Johnny, Kathryn Bernardo as Young Jenny, Joyce Ching as Young Shirley, Lucho Ayala as Young Jojo. Other characters are: Tirso Cruz III as Robert Garcia, Sandy Andolong as Katherine Garcia, Janice de Belen as Suzette Cruz, Gabby Eigenmann as Jojo Cruz, Kuh Ledesma as Carina Tantoco, Ces Quesada as Nora Ramirez, Marco Alcaraz as Nestor, Mosang as Christine, Janna Dominguez as Mylene, and Bernard Palanca as Raul.
Marian Rivera plays the grown-up Jenny, who was originally played by Korean actress Song Hye Kyo. At the beginning, Jenny lives a happy life with her parents and brother Johnny played by Dingdong Dantes. This all changed when Jenny discovers that she does not really belong to the family she grew up with.
Dingdong Dantes plays Johnny, first portrayed by Korean actor Song Seung Heun. Johnny is very close to his sister Jenny, but they were forced to separate when they learned that they are not real siblings. Years later, Johnny will look for Jenny and endless love will blossom between them.
Dennis Trillo plays Andrew, the rich hotel owner where Jenny works as a chambermaid. Andrew will have feelings for Jenny. Nadine Samonte plays the grown-up Shirley, the real sister of Johnny and the antagonist of Jenny. The newcomer Bela Padilla plays Yumi, the girlfriend of Johnny.
