22 Jump Street Owns The Weekend Over How To Train Your Dragon 2

This weekends big releases of films were all about sequels the ones that were released were big ones in 22 Jump Street and How To Train Your Dragon 2.Now the big guess coming into Thursday and Friday was that more families would take their younger children and family members to see Dragon 2 then see the more adult and teenage set Jump Street but it looks like on this Fathers Day weekend that 22 Jump Street rules the weekend with a 60 million dollar take in and How To Train Your Dragon 2 brought in 50 million. So the children's sequel wasn't far behind it but still in a game of inches and numbers the bromance of Tatum and Hill came out on top.The rest of the pack was Maleficent at number 3 with 19 Million and making its US total coming to 163.5 million, number 4 was Edge Of Tomorrow with 16.2 Million and giving its overall total to 56.6 million and rounding out the top 5 is The Fault In Our Stars with 15.7 Million and an overall total of 81.7 Million.I did get to see two out of the 5 this weekend in 22 Jump Street and Edge Of Tomorrow today and 22 Jump Street is TOTALLY worth going to if you liked the first film and I was very surprised by Edge Of Tomorrow and with the way the story went over time in the film.

Queen Elizabeth The 2nd Gives Honorary Titles In London

I know this isn't a huge movie story but yes today is a slow movie news day so I will admit that this being interesting it will also be something you won't see often on here.On Friday Queen Elizabeth the 2nd gave honorary titles to a few recognizable names in movies when she crowned Angelina Jolie and Daniel Day Lewis.Day Lewis was being able to be crowned as one of the few actors to win an Academy Award 3 times in his career and be in a number of great and memorable films.Jolie will be now known as dame Angelina but not for the number of films she has released and how she has become such a recognizable face around the world but for her charity world and how she has gone far and beyond all over the world to stick it out for what she has done and sticking to her cause in the best way possible. Now like I said this isn't a normal movie news story but I figured given the actors/actresses named I thought it would be worth mentioning now since some if not most would be calling them Dame or Sir from now on after the ceremony.

Rumors Of Martian Manhunter In Justice League

Now this and every story I do leading up to the release of this HUGE film needs to be taken with a grain or chunk of salt unless I state that it is confirmed from someone at Warner Bros. but the big rumor being stated from The Wrap is that there may be some possibility of MM being in Justice League. The slight evidence The Wrap is bringing is that of something called an "Agency Grid?" which I may be new to this but it does state that obvious Henry Cavill will be Superman(NO WAY!!!!!!!!) and Gal Gadot playing the role of Wonder Woman and right next to their names it is listed as confirmed but right above them you have two names which are listed as being "Max Lord" and "Martian Manhunter" and they both say OPEN right next to them which means that no actor has snatched up the role as of yet but it is on DC's radar. Now again this is a "grain of salt thing" but at the same time hearing this and what the Justice League might face is interesting to hear coming in but also at the same time your almost wondering if it is too soon because we have quite a wait for Batman Vs Superman:Dawn Of Justice and the story that comes with that which will be a lot of characters being introduced not in their full getup and all their full development coming into the big team up film that will happen 2017.Also when you look up who Max Lord anywhere online it will give you more info on him but it seems like at one point in the comics him and MM worked together to get a stronger Justice League together so it is an interesting story line but from what I am hearing they are going off of the New 52 type of story line but keeping the classic looks of some if not all of the heroes so it will be interesting to see how they play this out.

Gotham TV Show Has Early Positive Reviews

The FOX television show Gotham was shown to some writers and critics early and was met with glowing results by the time the credits rolled. Most people walked in thinking where they would go with it trying to A stretch out a series that could go 6 to 8 seasons and it is about something that has been covered so many times before so it would be interesting to see how and where they took the story.Another part of it was how would the acting of Ben Mckenzie playing the role of Gordon in the series because everybody mostly remembers him as the kid from the OC which was also on FOX but at the same time was much lighter and nothing like what Gotham is bringing to the table in any way.The reviews mostly said that they loved how great the origin story is and how well they stick to the facts and keep everything and everyone guessing for the next episode for whats going to happen or what you will see in Batman lore next.

Guy Pierce Signs On For "The Equals"

Guy Pierce has signed on to be in his next film which will be called "The Equals".His last film which was called "The Rover" was him and Robert Pattinson and was just released this past weekend and is coming in on some great reviews but didn't have a wide release like the other films did.Although he has just worked with Edward Cullen he is now working with Bella Swan in The Equals and sticking with the Twilight feel of it.Also Nicholas Hoult of X-Men and Warm Bodies fame is cast into the film as well. They will start shooting this August in Japan and Singapore and will be directed by Drake Doremus who resume lists off such films as Like Crazy,Spooner and Breathe In.The plot so far on this is unknown as of right now but as time goes by we will definitely learn more on this project and report on it as more develops.

True Detective May Only Last 3 Seasons

HBO sort of found lightning in a bottle when they put out the groundbreaking new show "True Detective" which starred Woody Harrelson and Matthew Mcconaughey in what is arguably the peak of his career with him winning the Oscar for his role in Dallas Buyers Club and all the moves he is making and the hype off of this very show. But now with many viewers and fans of the show wondering what they are going to do next with True Detective they are wondering what will come next since this reports states the whole series will only go 3 season overall. Now groundbreaking shows that catch fire and catch many MANY fans over time get 4-7 seasons before ending their run a good example of this is Breaking Bad or even another HBO staple in Game Of Thrones or even True Blood which is in its last season right now.But for me personally I am one of those people that is late to this party on watching this show but I have it and I am going to binge watch it until I finish it and I will most likely become hooked just all the other avid fans out there.I have heard nothing but great things about this show and would like it to go more then 3 because with 3 seasons on any show it will literally be over in a blink of an eye and you won't believe it was even on but at the same time maybe it is what the creators want and it will wrap up perfectly for the story when it is all said and done.

If you saw 22 Jump Street how did you feel about it?
