A Brief Look at the Career of Erena Ono

Japan has lots of beautiful and talented pop music singers. And Erena Ono is another one of them. Or at least she was when I first started to cover her life and career back in 2012 or so. She is what is known as a Japanese idol singer. She is one of those that has this sort of cute girl next door kind of look. She is a sort of less cute version of Atsuko Maeda if you know what I mean. She was also formerly part of the very popular female idol group AKB48. As many in Japan know, AKB48 is divided into teams with each one having a captain. Ono was part of AKB48’s Team K until she decided to graduate or leave the group. Her departure was announced on September 27, 2010 and she wanted to study acting abroad. However, she later changed her mind and stayed in Japan, citing reasons to return into the entertainment business. She started with AKB48 back in 2006.

A First Look At Erena Ono

Erena Ono's Singing Career In Brief

Erena Ono entered the world on November 26, 1993. A Tokyo Japan native, she enjoys darts and body boarding. She says that her favorite food is strawberry marshmallows. She has participated as an AKB48 member in many of their singles including Aitakatta, BINGO!, RIVER, and of course the famous Heavy Rotation song. She made her debut as a solo singer on April 2, 2012 with the single Erepyon under the Warner Music Japan record label. She is under contract with LesPros Entertainment.

Erena Ono Has Been a Solo Singer As Well

It was announced that she will release her 4th single called “Kimi ga Ano Hi Waratteita Imi wo.” It would be released on March 6, 2013. The theme of this track was “POP ROCK GIRL.” The lyrics were written by Ono. In the lyrics, she describes a story of herself working towards her dream in life. For this song, it would be the first time that she will have a band backing her up. Ono said that this had always been one of the things she wanted to do. It was also reported that Ono herself came up with ideas for the jacket covers of the single as well as for the music video. The jacket covers three time periods. They are past, present, and future.
