Top 8 Sexiest Princesses, Fan Art, A look at Disney's Princesses
Sexy Fan Art
Disney has the sexiest princesses. Sexy fan art, as I am portraying, is artwork that is based on a character or idea created by someone else. While it can be a work of art derived from a book, poem, or music, it is mainly work derived from comics, cartoons, movies and video games. These forms of visual media garner a larger fan base, thus a desire to recreate characters.
While fan art is based on original pieces or art, it is usually allowed under the US copyright laws under the provisions for Derivative Work. The US Copyright Act defines "derivative work," as:
A “derivative work” is a work based upon one or more preexisting works, such as a translation, musical arrangement, dramatization, fictionalization, motion picture version, sound recording, art reproduction, abridgment, condensation, or any other form in which a work may be recast, transformed, or adapted. A work consisting of editorial revisions, annotations, elaborations, or other modifications which, as a whole, represent an original work of authorship, is a “derivative work”.
In order for Fan art to be considered a "derivative work," it must display some originality of its own and it must contain sufficient new expression over the underlying work. A 3D digital recreation of a 2D pencil drawing could be considered a derivative work, as well as the examples I show in my hub on the Sexiest Cartoon Girls.
One of my favorite places to find fan art is a place called DeviantArt.com. DeviantArt.com is a social network of amateur and professional artist, designers, and writers, though it is open for anyone to join and participate. Artists here create and critique each other's works.
Below, I will show several examples of fan art that was created by some talented individuals on DeviantArt.com. For illustration I selected the most famous of Walt Disney's characters. Disney's "princesses" are some of the most recreated characters in fan art. They are so famous that the Walt Disney Company has adapted each of these characters from earlier works of literature, fairy tales, and legend.
Support Fan Art
As you can see, fan art is every bit as good and in some cases better than the original work of art. Artists of fan art are literally fans of the characters they illustrate. If you visit some of their profiles, you will see that these talented people devote countless hours to their craft and like many of us writers, they post their creations in a public manner in order to be critiqued and gain some insight to their strengths and weaknesses.
If you enjoyed these works of fan art, then you might be interested in the expressive form of art known as Lowbrow. You might also be more inclined to see real images like the ones in this hub on the sexiest bikini scenes in movies.
