The Empowerment of Female Hip Hop Artists - Female Rappers
Female Hip Hop Artists
Back in the 80's and 90's the female rappers got along better than they do now. Back in the 90s there was Queen Latifah and Monie Love, rapping together on the song called Ladies First. This is how female rappers should be, uniting together and supporting each other. They shouldn't have beef against each other; it's already a thought that female rappers don't get along. Can female rappers unite, and prove everyone wrong?
Female rappers have something to say also, not just male rappers. We all know that male rappers dominate the Hip Hop music industry, and now it's time for more female rappers to hop aboard right beside Nicki Manaj. The female rappers motto should be; 'To Each One, Reach One.'
The world is ready to hear what the talented female rappers have to say, and what's on their minds these days. Female rappers have the power to rap about things that will make you: learn from their experiences, have self-confidence, dance, feel empowered, encouraged, and feel more feminine, etc.
On the other hand, there are female rappers that have a different mind-set; they want to unite other female hip hop artists. Why do Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim have beef against each other? Good question. I'm sure we learned from Ja Rule and 50 Cent having beef as rappers in the media. Results of that . . . 50 cent rose to the top at the time and Ja Rule had to fall back. That might not always be the result of 2 rappers with beef, but it's possible that one will ruin his or her rap career.

Some women Rappers that have made one or two CDs don't mind the riches that are still rolling in, especially if they know how to spend their money wisely and invest in good business.
Some famous female rappers venture out to do bigger and better things in the entertainment industry. But they never forget where they came from which is rap, and this is what makes them special in the industry. Some venture out to become a:

Lil Moma assists with providing activities for the youth in her community; there are a few female rappers that have a good heart. Actually there are female hip hop artists today that want to make a change in the music industry without having beef against the next female hip hop artists. Da Brat is female rapper that wants to work with other female rappers without having beef.
Since back in the day, there have been female rappers that got along with one another, without having beef. And there are still female hip hop artists that are still sticking together for the movement of empowering the 'female rapper industry.' There are many young girls that want to be a female rapper, but they will need a mentor to look up to. Hopefully the young girl rappers will have a mentor that is positive and morally correct. Some female rappers already know there's "strength in numbers," the more female rappers there are; the better the chance for the younger female rappers coming up in the music industry. Being a part of mixed tapes could help to a certain extent.

The First Female Rapper
Many people remember the 1980s when Teena Marie came out with the song Square Biz (Rest-in-Peace). Tina Marie was rapping in the song Square Biz, and she had skills. Teena Marie was also singing with Rick James in the 80s during that time.
During this time in the 1980s there was a group called Roger and Zapp that also became part of the Hip Hop Culture. Many people may agree that Teena Marie is the first female hip hop artist, that started in the 1980s.

There are many many other female rappers that are not mentioned above, and they are: getting paid, in videos, rapping alongside male rappers, and coming up in the game to be noticed. It's time for female rappers to respect each other's art work; give props to each other's lyrics. By nature women give birth, so female rappers can give birth to something new and positive in the rap game.
Imagine if Angela Davis, Afeni Shakur, or India Arie as Female Rappers, it might switch the game; the point is, there are many meaningful things to rap about as women. Idle lyrics are cool and may be entertaining, but some music have to stand the test of time and just be timeless. For instance, the song Afro-Puffs will be a timeless record because Black women will always have Afro hair/natural hair growing out of our head. Also many records by Sista Soldier are meaningful, therefor her records give life as birth does.
Rappers, Pop Stars, and R & B artists have had great collaborations in the hip hop music industry.
Some female rappers can be very competitive, and that is part of being a rapper; depending on how it's done. Each rap artists has their own style and unique way of performing as a rap star in the hip hop music industry. Female hip hop artists from the 80s, 90s, and 2000 (now) has paved the way for many new female rappers today.
