Gabriel DropOut - Anime Review

Updated on October 3, 2017
5 stars for Gabriel DropOut

Gabriel DropOut is a comedy anime about angels and demons who, after completing their studies in heaven and hell, are required to live and study among humans in order to become full-fledged angels and demons. This anime follows Gabriel, an angel who came to the human world full of expectations to be the best angel she can be and to bring happiness to all mankind. That is until she finds herself addicted to video games and starts to consider herself a fallen angel.

Gabriel DropOut in a nutshell is an angel and demon comedy done in the cutest way. If you're looking for something lighthearted with cute characters doing cute things together this is the anime for you!

We start with Gabriel, an angel sent to live and study among humans in order to become a full-fledged angel, along with her friend Raphiel. She believes that it's her mission to be the greatest angel she can be and bring happiness to all mankind, this all changes when she unexpectedly becomes addicted to video games and decides to call herself a "fallen angel", never planning to return to heaven and instead spend her days on earth playing video games and having fun.

After arriving at their new school they befriend two demons named Vignette and Satanichia, who are on a similar mission from hell to accomplish the same goal as the angels. Angels and demons living together

This anime keeps your attention with it's cute characters and vibrant colors, get ready for a cuteness overload watching Gabriel and her friends explore the human world for the first time, celebrate holidays together, and find ways for angels and demons to get along.

It's not an epic adventure, but you won't regret watching Gabriel DropOut if you're looking for something cute with decently developed characters that will make you laugh.

The Breakdown:

Story: Gabriel DropOut doesn't have much of a plot but I wouldn't really count this as a negative thing considering it's a comedy, an extensive plot isn't necessary. What you'll expect from each episode is Gabriel and her friends experiencing the human world together.

Art: The art is very cute with it's bright colors which match the upbeat theme of the anime. Even the demons and creatures from hell follow this cute theme, so much so you might just forget they're supposed to be evil.

All in all you can't go wrong with this anime, it's not a huge commitment, visually appealing, and will give you a good laugh.
