What you think about the 2004 song, 'Dear America' that he sang in 2004 and now he apologized for? Translation: “Kill those ƒµçkîñg Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives Kill those ƒµçkîñg Yankees who ordered them to torture Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers Kill them all slowly and painfully”

I think it's not just the music. The uniqueness and humor of the video should be counted as well as among the many factors which made it very successful.

I still think that PSY has the most viewed video this year. I find the video funny and a little "R" rated for kids.

Just a comment. I heard a rumor that Lady gaga's "Bad Romance" had been seen by over 2 billion, and that "Born This way" was also approaching the Billion mark. There was also a rumor that Susan Boyle had the largest number of views of any artist on you tube, yet KISS had over 9 million more views than she did of "Rock N Roll All Night" live from their Symphony tour.

I think this is more PR than truth. But, I would not be surprised by Bieber, even though I think he sucks. Once again more PR.
